I think their version is awful, always hated it. This version vastly surprasses it IMO.

*nods* I find the original "Valerie" to be awfully boring, I think it's interesting to see the divide of opinions on this song. I suppose it's because the original is more of a Rock songs and the Mark Ronson/Amy Winehouse version is more hmm...a mixture really I don't see it as Pop.

I like both versions. But what exactly does Mark Ronson do on the Winehouse version? I mean ... it seems like she does all the hard work and he gets half the credit. I know he's a producer and all ... but they never credited, for example, Help ... by The Beatles and George Martin. I don't get it!

I really can now see Leona (deservedly) hang on to the UK #1 spot until the X-Factor winner grabs the Xmas #1.

Still Simon Cowell says her album "Spirit" is brilliant and there are much better songs on the album.

Funny how these reviews suggest otherwise:

Guardian Review 2 Stars

The Observer on Sunday Review Negative

The Times Review 2 Stars

BBC Music Review Negative

Funny how you just picked the negative ones as well. Go on the Spirit Wikipedia page and half are positive and half are negative.

Well he's hardly going to say its cr*p is he? :) :)

Despite some negative reviews as to the content of the album they all seem to concur that she has a very good voice.

Most reviews are just annoyed that the album is aimed at the US and contains no British style cheesy pop music.
