Posted November 14, 200717 yr Although X is not released yet and we have not heard more new songs from Kylie, apart from 2 Hearts, I have a feeling her second single will do much better than her first. Remember in 2006 when Shakira released Don't Bother as her first release and it only reached Top 10? Well, her next single Hips Don't Lie managed a number 1 - and that was her second single (obviously). I know it might sounds quite stupid, but it's possible. The main reason for this question is that well, Leona is currently number 1 on this week's mids (not sure if it will change). So, what do you think? Edited November 14, 200717 yr by buzz_person
November 14, 200717 yr If she avoids the Leonazilla. It's going to be a difficult market post-Christmas as so many well known artists have released albums and need the boost of a successful second single, so there'll be a huge amount of jockeying for a week which is relatively opposition free.
November 14, 200717 yr Well 2 Hearts is on course to be a big-ish No.2 hit so in our new donwload era its unlikely the second single will do better than that if the album sells well over xmas
November 14, 200717 yr She could easily have had a #1 if it wasn't for the Leona track, if she released the track earlier, it could have been a different story. Especially with low sales
November 14, 200717 yr What a strange comparison  Don't Bother only got to #9 and then fell pretty sharply, and OF2 only reached #22 originally [despite going platinum eventually.] Wheras 2 Hearts looks to be quite a big selling hit, as does X.
November 14, 200717 yr Apparently they're looking at a February 28th release date for the next single.
November 14, 200717 yr I think yes, Im also thinking the same for Britneys next single Piece of me, Which Is a really good single. Nowadays the first single isnt usually the artists biggest hit. Britneys first from her last album, Me Against the music went to number 2, but the following 2 songs went to number 1, and Im pretty sure Beautiful Liar was a bigger seller than Deja Vu For Beyonce. Also James Blunt, Amy Macdonald and KT Tunstalls new Album tunes are the best on the Album..Meh that may just be my opinion though
