JE Boyband NEWS are a big hit this week, taking the #1 slots in both the single and album charts. They easily beat off Kobukuro, who earlier in the year had the huge track 'Winding Road' which featured female of the moment Ayaka. Last time these two bands went head to head, NEWS came out on top initially, but Kokuburo outsold them overall. Will lightening strike twice? Despite being one of the most popular JPop females and rising K boyband, Koda Kumi & THSK fail to deliver greatly with new single 'LAST ANGEL.' Worse sales are in store for avex label mate Ai Otsuka, who only manages to scrape in at #5 with 'Pocket.' Ai recently released the #1 album 'LOVE PiECE.'

NEWS take the #1 album with 'Pacific' leavingMakihara Noriyuki trailing behind by nearly 150K. Former #1 BSB slip to #3, and SEAMO sticks around in the top 5 another week. Celine Dion manages yet another top 10 album with 'Taking Chances' and The eagles new album, which seems to have gone to #1 in most territories it was released, has to settle for #8.
