Posted November 16, 200718 yr Crying Amy in loo lock-in drama EXCLUSIVE: 'SUICIDE' FEARS BEFORE HER SHAMBOLIC SHOW - 16/11/2007 Amy WInehouse went into meltdown minutes before she was due to kick off her British tour, sparking fresh fears for her fragile state of mind. The troubled singer locked herself in a toilet before her shambolic performance at Birmingham's NIA on Wednesday. She was overheard wailing in despair for her husband Blake Fielder-Civil - who is banged up in London's Pentonville prison - and refused to come out for 30 minutes. She kept screaming: "I can't go on without Blake. How can I live without him? I need him. I need my baby." Panic-stricken staff at the venue feared that 24-year-old Amy, who has a history of self-harm, could even kill herself. A backstage source tells us: "Her aides and our staff went into panic mode as Amy refused to leave the loo. We could hear her sobbing from outside. "She was saying she couldn't go on without Blake. It made everyone worry she would do something stupid to herself. "Eventually aides convinced her to come out and that everything would be OK, but it was touch and go for a while." When she finally went on stage, she was booed by fans for keeping them waiting. Then she stumbled and slurred her way through the hour-long set of the opening night of her 17-date tour. At one point the jazz babe was propped up by her band as she almost collapsed in tears. Her spokesperson said: "It has been a hard couple of weeks for Amy. She found it very difficult on Wednesday night - Blake is usually by the side of the stage."
