November 17, 200717 yr Author Trevs, I know the Sunday People, print the sales only singles charts, but do they break off, on a different day to the mixed chart? I am not sure, on that one. I would think it was a different day. I believe the album chart, breaks off around Wednesdays, but does take into account the previous Saturday`s sales i.e. running from the end of the previous week, into this one. I shall have to have a word with Dave, to confirm the physical singles only chart. He was only down here yesterday too. The chart we use would be equivalent to that of the old Network Chart, including a small percentage of airplay, as well as sales. The downloads were included when the Smash Hits Chart, used mrib data. That breaks off into the Friday, but does not include sales of the previous Saturday (otherwise it would slow the chart down, and be behind a bit). The physical only, singles chart, still had the KOOPA single, in their top 15, last Saturday (and it wasn`t even sighted in the official chart, at all). I did find out about the chart on Chart Show tv. When ITV ran the chart show, its sales ran from Wednesday to Tuesday. Obviously, as we know, these days the chart on Chart Show tv, is a bit doctored around the channel`s playlist. No re-releases, are shown, and non-playlist tracks, are not included either. That programme`s chart breaks off, on a Tuesday. So, some of the download only tracks, will not yet be downloading enough copies, to show in the chart anyway. Looking at the chart today, Chart Show tv`s singles chart, would not have included the T2 track, for a start, as well as ELVIS. Doubt they would`ve played RUNRIG either. So I expect they had ROBYN, 50CENT and either NICOLE, MIKA or the SPICE GIRLS in their top 20. Well doctored!! Come to think of it, they probably had AMY WINEHOUSE in, because if I remember correctly, she was around 23, on Tuesday. Similarly, I think I explained previously when SOUNDS used mrib`s chart for it`s paper, from 1984 onwards, the SOUNDS chart broke off midweek, and was only physical sales, and didn`t include any airplay (so it differed from the Network Chart).
