Vision Of Love was a massive hit in America in 1990 while it was a big, but not hugely successful smash in the UK like it was in the US. <_< However, it still launched Mimi into the legend she has become today. :cheer: :cheer: Bleeding Love (which is what I consider Leona's first "proper" single) instantly broke records the minute Leona performed on X-Factor, biggest selling single of the year, biggest selling weekly tallies for a single, and now she'll shatter two records by Sunday: Highest First Week Album Sales By A Debut Artist, & also the Highest First Week Album Sales By A Female Artist looking to shatter Dido's first week sales of 400,351 copies for Like For Rent back in 2003.) Bleeding Love easily sounds like something that could have appeared on either Mariah Carey or Emotions. Either way, for moi: it'll always be Vision Of Love. Such an immense classic. Firstly, have a listen to both tracks: - Vision Of Love iEvRI_CcpcI Bleeding Love sF84pIhP5UM Edited November 17, 200717 yr by Flatcap
November 17, 200717 yr Leona's VOL is one of Mariahs worst imo :( she has had so much better since then.....
November 17, 200717 yr Aint posted in her for a while :o :( I do prefer 'Bleeding Love' though by far. 'Vision Of Love' is FAR from Mariahs best.
November 17, 200717 yr Leona's VOL is one of Mariahs worst imo :( she has had so much better since then..... Agreed on both accounts. I find Vision Of Love a bit bland, always have and I suspect I always will. Shows off her great range very well but the track itself isn't up to much in my opinion, I think it's showing of how times have changed because I think if an artist (even with Mariah's range) had Vision Of Love as their debut single it would flop on it's arse, specifically for being quite boring.
November 17, 200717 yr Author I'm surprised most of the hardcore Mimi fans hate Vision Of Love - have you noticed how high she can go with those notes? Damn! Vanishing & All In Your Mind are the real gems from the debut album (the LP).
November 28, 200717 yr Leona. :D I only like the last part of the song. :) Leona. :D I only like the last part of Vision Of Love. :)
December 6, 200717 yr Definitely Leona. I don't have a strong opinion of Vision Of Love either way- I don't hate it but it's far from my favourite Mariah song.
December 9, 200717 yr I prefer 'Bleeding Love'. Damn it. I'm such a bad fan. They're both 10/10 songs but 'Bleeding Love' is just tighter and spiffier. That said, more than a dozen Mariah singles (Hero, Without You, All I Want... etc) could have Leona in a fight.
