Week 6, and the Theme is going to be Love Songs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The next X-Factor theme is at the moment Motown (although on Xtra-Factor Simon said he may change it).

If it is Motown who do you think (in your opinion) should sing which motown classic.

These are my choices together with the audio of the original songs for those who have never heard them.

Hope - Diana Ross & The Supremes classic - Someday We'll Be Together. LISTEN

Same Difference - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell classic - You're All I Need To Get By. LISTEN

Rhydian - Stevie Wonder - Yester-Me Yester-you Yesterday. LISTEN

Beverly - Gladys Knight & The Pips - If I Were Your Woman. LISTEN

Leon - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - Tears Of A Clown. LISTEN

Niki - Martha & The Vandellas - Nowhere To Run. LISTEN

The X-Factor really is sticking too much to the past. In 6 weeks, we've already had big band, 70s disco, and now motown. The singers need more experience in singing contemporary styles, otherwise they'll never make it big after the comp.

Here's a thought! Have they ever done a Country and Western theme? :)

I think Hope could pull off a performance of "Baby Love" or "You Can't Hurry Love" by The Supremes.

If they were to have a Stevie Wonder song for Rhydian - I'd rather it was something like Lately or Overjoyed - songs that are challenging but he is more than up to the task. I'd rather they'd keep him away from any up-tempo ones because Louis will only throw his toys out of the pram again.

I dont like Mo-Town at all

To me it's miles better than the R&B rubbish of today.

At least they had a real melody and great lyrics. And the singers could really sing

Not in the UK. but it would be great.

American Idol has one most seasons

I don't recall the UK haveing a rock theme either

Motown. :manson: Thats almost the same as Big Band etc.

I say it should be rock. B) I'd love to see Bev to something like Barracuda, she's got the range to pull it off. :o

IF Motown does happen, Leon will do something like Sign, Sealed, Delivered.

And Same Difference doing 5,6,7,8 - or is that too predictable?

Simon is changing it altogether, scrap this.

Actually its better done mid week,

Is Kylie meant to be on this week? If so I wish they would do a Kylie week with the contestants doing:

Same Difference - Step Back In Time

Rhydian - Confide In Me

Niki - Can't Get You Out Of My Head

Hope - Better the Devil You Know

Leon - Shocked

Beverely - Spinning Around

But its never gonna happen is it

There was an article in The Sun today and it said Simon's changed the theme from Motown to love songs

Yeah, It's Love Songs.

Anyone know who the Special Guest is?

Oh, and for the person who thought Kylie was on- She's not. She's going to be in the final.

Love Songs?

Mariah, Celine, Whitney..

i prefer this one ^_^ i reckon Niki and Brenda will ace it....Leon and Same Difference will struggle :(
