Posted November 19, 200717 yr Photo Finish For Spice Girls by Paul Cashmere - November 19 2007 Spice Girls have pushed the Eagles back to second position with less than 400 units separating number one and number two this week on the Australian chart. Spice Girls 'Greatest Hits' pushed ahead of the Eagles 'Long Road Out Of Eden' in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia to give it the overall top spot nationally. Spice Girls 'Greatest Hits' sold 14,236 units to Eagles 'Long Road Out Of Eden' on 13,881. Guy Sebastian claimed third spot. His 'The Memphis Album' sold 9,916 units. Elsewhere in the top 10, The Killers rarities record 'Sawdust' came in at number 7 on 7,257 units and Led Zeppelin's 'Mothership' was at number 8 on 7,019 units sold. In the Top 20, Celine Dion was at 12 after 5,149 sales, Alicia Keys made it to 13 with 4,729 units sold and Matt Tilley's 'Three's A Crowd' debuted at 14 on 4,727 sales. Kylie Minogue had the number one single. '2 Hearts' sold 6,149 units. AC/DC remained at number one on the DVD chart after selling 4,322 copies of 'Plug Me In'. Slow sold over 13,000 copies to get to #1 back in 2003. And the amount that Kylie sold in OZ this week is the equilvalent of selling 18,450 copies in the UK. So those sales are really low. And oddly enough, 2 Hearts isn't #1 on either the physical or the digital sales chart! So it's #1 is truly surprising! :unsure:
November 20, 200717 yr Aussie sales are really bad, I remember last year sometime when Delta has a #2 single which sold 5,000ish copies to make that week at #2. :lol:
November 22, 200717 yr That's because Aussie chart didn't include sales from major retailers, such as Virgin and HMV, and so that's why the sales are bad and that's also why The Hits and Beyond didn't make the Top 50!!
