The girl that webcast from her basement in Tooting to thousands of people across the globe now releases her debut single 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)'. The subsequent buzz saw her become the first high profile signing by Craig Logan as he steps into his position at the head of the newly re-launched RCA label. Following the success of artists like KT Tunstall, Sandi should do well with her fairly unique mix of powerful, rootsy, soulful vocals and sparse instrumentation, consisting of only percussion and drums. - HMV

It my #2 in my Personal Chart, it's at #5 on I-Tunes (although Jon - Predicta Game does not think it will go Top75).

I think this song could replace Gnarl Barkley at the Top of the singles chart.

It's not listed on Radio1 and c-listed on Radio 2.

Last year the single was released according to HMV but I guess it got nowhere. Is it going to be any different this time around?

Love it! Its so different something fresh.

I dont know one minute I think its a serious #1 contender then I think it'll struggle.

Only time will tell.

I really like her voice, quite unique, but i'm not too keen on the song. -_-

Yes, something totally refresh. I agree. Really stands out.

What I don't get is why is she saying "I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair?" is that supposed to be a joke or something? or is she getting them confused with hippies?

I've been online this afternoon on her website where she has been chatting to fans:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i wrote punk rocker with a friend of mine from dorset so no its not a cover! When i first moved to london i was living in a really small lonely place in crystal palace, south london and i missed my friends very much. i had my phone stolen from me one day and was very upset by it...it made me realise how much id come to rely on it so i thought of the way life used to be and basically drew comparisons between life as a punk or a hippy to present day life.

Just heard it for the first time. Awesome song, great voice.

I hope this is No.1 next week.

Absolutey love this   the more I listen to it, the more I love it
I like her voice, but the song is very annoying. I don't think it should get to number one, and will be quite surprised if it does get there.

Well it charted at #15 today .. so meh, I don't think it will climb tbh :(
