Does anyone have any info on Shania Twain's albums and single sales in the UK?? Thanks in advance! I guess "Come On Over" was a huge selling album but don't know about the others. I also suspect that both "That Don't Impress Me Much" and "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" sold loads, but have no info on the "Up!" singles and how they performed.

I know That Don't Impress Me Much sold over 700k in the UK! It was the 7th biggest seller of 1999 and the biggest selling non-no.1 single of the year!

I wouldn't be at all surprised it sold that much to be honest. And sales were greater back then too.

VH1 did a list of the UK's best selling albums.

Shania was 12th with 3.4million! (as of november last year)

Come On Over is a great great album get it if you don't it was in the top 3 for months and number 1 for weeks aswell really made her into a superstar really, Up was a bit of a disappointment but I hope she'll have huge success next year

I'm not entirely sure of what Shania's EXACT sales in the UK are but I can confirm that Come On Over has sold over 3.3 million (music week published that figure a few years ago...well i think it was Music Week lol)...Im sure its sold more since then so it could have reached 3.4 million now as one of the posters above stated.

 

Up's sales are something i have NEVER been able to get a hold of for the UK. It is certified double platinum and my best estimate is that the sales are approximately 700-800 in the UK but if anyone knows the exact sales PLEASE let me know lol. The same goes for her The Woman In Me album which is certified platinum...have no idea what the sales are though.

 

As for the Greatest Hits, it sold 545,000 in 2004 and 108,000 in 2005 (both figures from Music Week) making a grand total of 653,000 up to the end of 2005 so i would estimate by now it had topped 700,000 in the UK

That chart run for Come On Over is incredible! I can't imagine an album getting that long running top 3 success now! The closest we have this year is Back To Black but that's been up and down the top 10 like a yoyo as opposed to the top 3

Shania has confirmed that her new album will be out next year (2008) and that she is working on songs as we speak!!!!! I hope it ain't another November release like she has done for the last 2 albums cos that's too far away!! A late summer release would be perfect with another single out in time for the Christmas rush!!

 

Bout bloody time she's putting another album out though :P Her last studio album, Up! was out in 2002!!!!!! Friggin AGES ago lol!!! But her albums are always worth the wait!! I agree completely with what you said myfunkodyssey. shania always makes me smile because her music is so catchy and "feel good"!! Plus i can def see the Abba comparisons...C'est La Vie is a tiny bit reminiscent of Dancing Queen i think (should have been a single...soooo catchy :cry: )
