And those lyrics do make sense. Come Undone is all about how Robbie's public persona is one thing but the 'real' Robbie is something else altogether.

 

'I'm the young pretender' - he's seen as the up and coming king of pop (pretender to the throne as it were).

 

But 'my throne's a broken seat'- it's all false, his life's a mess and the foundations of his fame are rocky.

 

 

And I've listened to the album version. To me it sounds like

 

'I'm the young pretender and my crown's a broken seat'. Which does seem rather strange but I have an image of a king sat on his throne with a broken toilet seat on his head instead of a crown. Knowing Robbie that may be what he meant by the metaphor. :lol:

 

Anyway, I know various lyric sites have 'the young pretend I'm in the clouds above the sea'. But that's not what I hear. And it makes no sense when you take into account the rest of the lyrics of Come Undone.

 

Just my opinion of course :P :P :P

Explaination PM sent to Jups, can't be arsed posting about it again and again as its like one big circle. We all know that Robbie never sticks to the written lyrics so there is a high chance that there is more than one version of that verse.
