.............. the sun will grow in size as its fuel is spent, swelling up and swallowing the earth as it becomes a 'red giant'. this will be billions of years into the future.

That was the same type of question people had about Planet Earth centuries ago... Is it infinite or does it has an end, how is it possible??? Then it turned out that the planet doesn´t have an end but also is not infinite, because it´s a globe. I guess the question with universe might have some similar answear, which may be ridiculously simple but we just cannot understand...

If the universe is infinite, then there must be life at several points on it... Some might be as inteligent as us, some might be just like amoebas, but somewhere must be some incredibly inteligent type of life... They could have become so inteligent that they were able to create smaller universes, and maybe our universe is one of these, so maybe we´re incredibily dumb compared to them and we are their creation... So maybe it´s true that some inteligent being has created or world, but not necessarily God.

The universe is huge, and how do we know that there isnt other universes? If there are an infinate amount of universes/planets, then there has to be life of some sort, wether they be fully developed creatures or single cell organisms

that depends upon wether or not there are other dimensions other then the 4 we see..

 

the term UNIverse indicates that there is only 1 universe, however the string theory gives rise to the possibility of several universes co-existing, a 'multiverse'...
