Posted May 16, 200619 yr Sevilla 4-3 Real Madrid (Beckham 2goals, Zidane) Osasuna 2-1 Valencia Real Madrid player of the season David Beckham scored the first two goals of the match in front of some of the travelling England contingent from their player camp in Portugal. However Sevilla scored 4 goals without reply before Zidane scored the final goal of the season & his career at Real Madrid. David Beckham was substituted (some what petulantly by the coach at half-time despite being regarded as Real's best player in the first half) as current England manager Sven Goran Eriksson is expected to be the new manager at Real Madrid next season. Valencia needed a better result than Real Madrid to pip Real Madrid for 2nd place. Likewise UEFA Cup winners Sevilla needed a better result than Osasuna to take the 4th & final Champions League place. FINAL STANDINGS 1st Barcelona 2nd Real Madrid 3rd Valencia 4th Osasuna (CL!!) 5th Sevilla miss out (go into UEFA cup)
May 17, 200619 yr wow close one. So if Valencia had even drawn they would have gone into second spot? I really can't see Sven turning Real Madrid around...
