Kylie Minogue's 10th studio album 'X' has debuted at number one in Australia.

Kylie maintained her Queen of Pop reputation by selling just over 16,000 units.

'X' pushed the Eagles 'Long Road Out Of Eden' into the number two position but the Eagles record has had rock solid consistent sales since it debuted 5 weeks ago.

Jimmy Barnes 'Out of the Blue' made an impressive Top 3 debut on sales of 12,897.

This week's Australian top 10 is:

1. Kylie Minogue 'X'

2. Eagles : 'Long Road Out Of Eden'

3. Jimmy Barnes : 'Out of the Blue'

4. Timbaland : 'Shock Value'

5. Human Nature : 'Get Ready'

6. Delta Goodrem : 'Delta'

7. Spice Girls : 'Greatest Hits'

8. Guy Sebastian : 'The Memphis Album'

9. Keith Urban : 'Greatest Hits 18 Kids'

10. Young Divas : 'New Attitude'

Considering Australia has a third of the UK's population, selling 16K over there is like selling 48,000 in the UK. And Body Language sold 25,000 copies to debut at #2 back in 2003 & Fever sold over 40,000 copies to debut at #1! :w00t: :w00t: So the sales for X in OZ aren't amazing, but they'll somewhat do. I expected atleast 20,000 at #1 though. :(

Strange..the first week sales of X have been higher in comparison to body language in the UK but the opposite in OZ is true.
how much did fever and body language sell in oz???

The shippment (not the actual sale) are 7xplantium and 2xplantium respectively.

most of my friends download now days :(

yet the quality of download can never live up to the quality of physical CDs. ;)

! Certified Platinum in week one? Perhaps but of that 70k+ she only sold 17k. Have to laugh. :(

I wouldn't worry too much about that actual sale figure down here in Oz as half of the major outlets do not count toward the ARIA chart....don't ask me why...I have no idea but it doesn't really give a true indication of how an album is performing saleswise. Sanity for instance are a major outlet and they just have ther own chart and she would have sold heaps through them.

I think having a poor lead single didn't help either tbh.

its a shame that most outlets dont count towards the offical chart in oz as if they did we would know more about overall sales in oz

That's right, and The Hits and Beyond sold 10K in its first week!! Not some 674 copies as some press mentioned. -_-
