From the BBC:

Take That shut door on Williams

The band have embarked on the UK leg of their tour

Take That's Gary Barlow has said there will be "no place" for ex-member Robbie Williams in the group in future.

"I think, when it comes down to it, he's just not going to be in the band again," the 36-year-old musician told The Big Issue magazine.

Group member Mark Owen said that when the act reformed after a 10-year gap, Williams was invited to join in, but he decided to "walk his dog" instead.

Until recently, the foursome had left the way clear for the star to return.

They had said the door was "always open".

Panned

While the group have enjoyed renewed success since they reformed in 2005, with chart-topping singles, a new album and sell-out live tour, Williams' fortunes have waned.

His most recent album Rudebox was panned by critics, and its lead single peaked at only number four.

Robbie Williams has not had a top 10 hit for a year

The singer had previously enjoyed a string of chart-topping releases.

He failed to make any impact at the Brit Awards earlier this year, while Take That won best single for their comeback song Patience.

Williams quit Take That in 1995 to embark upon a solo career, amid reports that his relationship with Barlow was strained.

The group got back together after a television documentary which did not feature Williams.

Oh REALLY? He earned nearly $70 MILLION in on his WORLDWIDE Tour during 9 months work last year, the chances of TT ever earning that much combined in a lifetime are about as slim as Posh Spice

Robbie Williams has not had a top 10 hit for a year

Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that he has'nt worked whatsoever in the past 12 months as he is having a year off? :o The only single he has released in the past 12 months was She's Madonna, the 3rd single off the non-promoted Rudebox, which got to #16. No mention of the fact that it topped TEN charts all over the world, whilst I'd Wait For Life also missed the top 10, at #17. It is just so unbelievable how one sided the British media are when it comes to Rob and TT. Shocking infact. And I would've expected a little more from the BBC than an article which could'nt easily been written by the 3am bitches. It's so hilariously badly written with so many inacuracies.

As for Mark's comments, it sounds to me like he was joking about the dog walking. Not some huge 'dig' like the media report it. Gawd, these people truly are beyond stupid are'nt they?

Beyond stupid indeed. And to think my TV licence pays their wages....

What annoys me with all these type of articles, is the total spin placed on it, how to turn "Rudebox only got to No.4" into a negative, when it could have been a positive.

He has not had a top 10 hit last year, a negative, instead of the positive, he is taking a year off, a positive.

And I hope Gary Barlow did say that they don't want him back, good, maybe now all this tripe will stop.

I would be upset if Mark Owen did say that, because if he did that sounds like sour grapes to me, and some friend he turned out to be. Remember Knebworth Mark.

Well they ganged up on him before, so what's new this time.

What annoys me is this. We all know there is no way on God's Earth Robbie would consider re-joining TT. Robbie knows that. TT know that.

But rather than TT saying that, they spin it so that it seems they are the ones blocking his return. So ridiculous. He could buy and sell the lot of them. Combined. Several times over.

Sure, great idea. I'll rejoin TT and sell less records than I currently do. I'll rejoin TT and play to a fraction of the number of fans that I currently play to. I'll rejoin TT and make loads less money. And then have to split it 5 ways.

Great idea! Where do I sign? :w00t:

Just another slow news day....ignore the press...they just like repeating themselves...week after week after week...........

Anyway Santa is coming soon....make sure the chimney is big enough...... :P :P :P :P :P

Exactly and that is what pisses me off. Barlow could have said it in a different way but ofcourse make him and the rest of them into the good guys and Rob again into the bad one. How nice of them to offer him a spot, after he 'walked out' on them the first time and he refused to join them

As for Mark's comment, whether he said it as a joke or not it was a very stupid and spiteful thing to say. Just plain nasty especially when Rob has been VERY nice to him over the years. He knows full well how the media is playing all the Robbie vs TT thing and by him saying that he has fuelled it even more. I mean if it'd come from Barlow or the others it wouldn't really sting that much but as he is known as the 'nice' one well ofcourse the press would jump all over it. It just all makes Rob look bad and he knows it, they all know the media well enough to know how they word things makes the world of difference. I guess be thankful for what Barlow did say .... FINALLY, but what a way to stir things up.

Is something not going well for them ?? Did they need extra publicity ?? Oh yeah that's right their calendar is not selling well

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/article584957.ece (with a photo. Of the darts player, not of Robbie  )

PHIL TAYLOR is the most unlikely recipient of a Brit Award in the history of pop.

Now he wants his world darts crown back to go alongside it on his mantelpiece.

The Power’s bid to regain his PDC title has been boosted by an incredible gift from Robbie Williams.

The superstar singer sent Taylor one of his Brit Awards with a good luck message ahead of next week’s tournament.

Oche legend Taylor said: “It looks lovely on my mantelpiece.

“Robbie phoned me and said ‘I’m going to send you something I think you might like’.

“A parcel arrived a few days later and when I opened it up I was stunned to see it was the Best Male Artist award he won at the Brits in 2001.

“There was also a nice card and a signed shirt from him. The award has pride of place in my living room. I texted him back and said ‘Thanks a lot. Now I’m going to have to buy a bigger house and put it on the wall’.

“I also sent him one of my shirts, a dartboard and a set of darts because he loves the sport. He’s not a bad player either.

“I want to send him something else, something a bit special, but I don’t know what yet. I mean, what do you buy for a bloke like Robbie?

“But he’s just like me. He comes from a working class background in Stoke and really appreciates anything he’s sent.”

It may seem an unlikely friendship between the Potteries’ two favourite sons but Taylor is close pals with the former Take That idol’s parents.

Taylor said: “I do some charity work with his mum Jan and his dad Pete and we go back probably 30 years or more.

“Robbie grew up 150 yards from me. We’re both very ambitious and both started out in the Ryan Hall working man’s club.

“That’s where he first performed to an audience and I began playing darts.”

Taylor takes on Dutchman Michael van Gerwen on Tuesday in the first round of the tournament at the North London’s Alexandra Palace.

The Power has roared back after his shock first-round defeat to Adrian Gray at the World Grand Prix in Dublin this year.

He said: “I went backstage and thought ‘I’ve had enough’. There was a bit in my mind that said ‘No more’. But I decided to get back to being dedicated.

“I want to thank Aidy Gray. At the time I wanted to kill him, but with hindsight it’s the best thing that could have happened.

“I made a pledge that for the next five years I’m going to be more dedicated. I will do everything I can to perfect my game — from buying a bigger house to getting my own chef.

“Diet is so important in this game now, as is exercise. I’ve spoken with Robbie about it. He’s got his own chef and he looks a million dollars.”

Sky Sports are broadcasting the PDC World Darts Championship exclusively live — starting at 7pm this Monday on Sky Sports 1.

Robbie Williams hits the shops

Since his Take That days, I have been a massive Robbie Williams fan (And I really do mean massive). There's just something about that cheeky grin of his, although admittedly he's not showing it off in this photo!

Robbie Williams headed out with a pal do some Christmas shopping at The Grove in LA yesterday, picking up items at Nordstrom and Abercrombie and Fitch.

Robbie looked very chic and stylish, sporting a black overcoat over washed denim. He teamed this with a loosely fastened skinny black scarf. I think this makes him a contender for our gorgeous men in equally gorgeous clothes list. Ahhh, there's nothing I love more than ogling gorgeous men, and gorgeous clothes....

Thanks to Luisa from RWAP..

Yummolicious

Even the beard is looking good to me in this pic LOL

Yeah, he looks good. The beard really suits him now

I just googled his name to find any other new pics, and my god my blood is boiling with all these TT article I have come accross. The headlines are just so bloody f***ing annoying. I won't post up the silly articles but such headlines as "Take That slams the door on Robbie Williams re-entry bid", going onto state Gary has refused to LET Rob back into the band, another one is "TT tell Rob to forget comeback", "Robbie left out in the cold" - I am so bloody sick and tired of this $h!t. It is just unbelievable how these pure lies are being spread and such huge volumes of people are buying it. Go onto any other forum, or newspaper comments page, and they are all full up of anti-Rob remarks, saying how TT have made the right decision and how Robbie will only be remembered for Angels, and how TT are bigger etc. Can you believe how ignorant people are and how they just simply do not have the first clue what they are talking about? It is just so annoying to have to constantly read this c**p when we know it simply could'nt be further from the truth. I just do not get what Rob has done to deserve all this disgusting hatred from people.

Absolutely agree with you. Makes my blood boil reading some of the comments on those stories to see how much hate there is for Rob and how these stupid people are buying what they read hook, line and sinker  and all that hate is coming from TT fans yet they will swear up and down how much love there is for Rob among TT fans. Makes me :puke2:

I still don't get why Mark would say something so nasty. He may have said it as a joke but if he'd care about Rob and knowing full well how the press is angling the whole Rob vs TT thing, it was just very mean spirited. And what annoys me even more is that the TT fans jumping to his defense with the 'Rob has said meaner things' too line. Yeah Rob has said mean things in the past but never about Mark that's why a comment like that coming from Mark is just spiteful and rude. If a friend said something like that publicly about me, even if they were joking, I would be very upset. Not a very friendly thing to say and the press is loving every minute of it.

It a great picture of Robbie, I wonder if he is spending his 5% or whatever percent it is from Take That royalities.

Keep it coming lads..

Grammy Nominations Announced

Yelle, "Pop-up" Gallic pop pixie Yelle holds the distinction of recording the catchiest single of the year with her cover of "A Cause Des Garcons" (although Beck's "Timebomb" is a close second). Her album, recorded en francais, is a fizzy dance party that mixes traces of Plastic Bertrand, Nu Shooz, and Fannypack into a delectable bonbon.

Andrew Bird, "Armchair Apocrypha" The violinist's trip to the center of his psyche reveals a new layer upon each listen. It has the potential to be cloyingly self-aware, but Bird's narratives are lovely rather than annoying. He even gives Rufus Wainwright a run for his chamber-pop money on the haunting "Scythian Empire."

The Go! Team, "Proof of Youth" Ian Parton's bedroom recordings seemed to be a cheerful fluke on his band's debut outing, "Thunder, Lightning, Strike." But he builds on the Double Dutch jump-rope chants and static-y Northern Soul with more aggressive guitars, rocking melodica solos, and top-notch vocals by powerhouse frontwoman Ninja.

Jens Lekman, "Night Falls Over Kortedala" Lekman's honey baritone adds depth to these featherweight orchestral-pop songs. His overactive imagination results in songs such as "A Postcard to Nina," where the Swedish crooner tells a lesbian buddy that he can no longer pretend to be her boyfriend.

Mark Ronson, "Version," and Amy Winehouse, "Frank" This was the year of Winehouse's neo-Motown soul, which also makes it the year of her producer, Mark Ronson. On his debut, Ronson calls in favors from Winehouse and Robbie Williams, who plays a singing James Bond on his pitch-perfect cover of "The Only One I Know." As Winehouse moaned about rehab, her soulful 2003 debut finally saw the light of day in the United States.

Mika, "Life in Cartoon Motion" Former boy soprano Mika eerily channels Freddie Mercury on ambiguously gay show stoppers such as "Grace Kelly" and "Lollipop." Close your eyes, and you can almost see the jazz hands flailing along to "Billy Brown" and "Big Girl."

LCD Soundsystem, "Sound of Silver" It's unusual to find an album of dance rock for grown-ups, but James Murphy's confessions of aging at the discotheque is like finding a mix tape filled with New Order and David Bowie. Just to stay limber, by the end of the year, Murphy released "45:33," a soundtrack for - wait for it - jogging. Genius.

Carla Bruni, "No Promises" The supermodel tackles the poetry of Emily Dickinson, Dorothy Parker, and other wordsmiths by adapting prose into blues and chanson-style songs. Bruni's sexy interpretation gives these words an entirely different kind of power - the power to make trousers and blouses quickly disappear.

Bertrand Burgalat, "Cheri B.B." Burgalat's retro-chic pop is endlessly charming - a mix of vintage electronics, ye-ye- influenced hooks, and soaring strings that lift his broken English and French creations to the heavens.

From News of the Screws. Can't find this story online so I'll have to type it up. <_<

Multi-millionare pop star Robbie Williams gave a stranger a cigarette- then demanded 12p for it.

The freshly bearded singer was Christmas shopping with actor pal Max Beasley in LA. And when the man approached the greying star  asking for a cigarette Robbie, 33, reluctantly agreed.

But as he was driving off Robbie realised the man who took the ciggie was a paparazzo photographer. The singer flipped and demanded the paltry payment. An onlooker said 'Robbie went completely mad and was cursing at the photographer. He yelled at him to come up to the car. That's when Robbie demanded a quarter. It was most bizarre.'
