Posted December 28, 200717 yr POP icon Robbie Williams is to become the biggest comeback king of all time with a stunning £150million world tour. The Star 28th Dec. http://usera.imagecave.com/therobbiewilliamsite/TRWS/0200640123700.jpghttp://i12.tinypic.com/6qe4x9t.jpg He is out to prove he is bigger than his old band Take That. And he is determined to make 2008 his year after taking 12 months out to beat depression and his addiction to prescription drugs. The Angels singer is plotting a mega-bucks musical revival topped off with a massive worldwide tour. It will see 33-year-old Robbie’s bank balance bulge by a colossal £150million. He was furious after rival Gary Barlow, 36, said there would never be a place for Robbie in his old band following Take That’s stunning comeback this year. Now he aims to leave them in the shade with a sell-out worldwide tour performing all his old hits including Millenium and Rock DJ. He is even planning to release a new album off the back of the tour. “Robbie’s watched Take That come back and be successful,” said a music insider. “Now’s the time to show he is even better as a solo artist and has the success that they can only ever dream of.” Robbie needs Take That like we need the rain Music Insider The source added: “Robbie needs Take That like we need the rain. His 2006 Close Encounters tour shifted 1.5million tickets in a day, 3.5million overall and grossed over £170m. “Whatever the critics say he is a force to be reckoned with and everyone knows he puts on a great show which is why millions across the globe are always desperate to get their hands on his concert tickets.” Robbie, who has been spotted out and about sporting a beard, will begin a health drive in the new year to get him back in shape. Girlfriend Ayda Field, 28 – the star of TV series Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip – is said to be the inspiration behind his comeback. Pals say the babe has helped him get his creative juices flowing again. Robbie will take the tour back to Knebworth where, in 2003, he performed to 375,000 people over three days. And he is also lining up a string of dates around the globe. “After so long out of the limelight his fans are desperate to see him back where he belongs, on stage,” said our source. “It’s got the potential to be one of the biggest tours ever seen.” http://usera.imagecave.com/TRWS/2008tour-copy.jpg Thanks to TRWS
December 28, 200717 yr Author He is out to prove he is bigger than his old band Take That. How deluded are the media? It is only them and extremly ignorant people who seriously believe TT are even in Robbie's league on a global scale, so Rob knows full well he does'nt have to prove it ffs. All you have to do is compare the Close Encounters tour to theirs and it is pretty bloody obvious, well unless you can't add properly. I thought I'd make a topic for this as the article is just too funny and over the top to not  Despite it clearly being bull$h!t (well the way it is written mostly), it did get me excited reading it about Rob coming back. It does'nt have the usual over the top negetivity, and for once presents the FACTS that his last tour grossed £170m and he sold 3.5 MILLION tickets. It is very nice to see this written for once, and I can't believe it made the front bloody page  Seriously though, it is clearly exadurated beyond all limits. Why on earth would he spend £150m on a tour? I mean honestly, the only way he could even come close to making a profit then would be if he half killed himself by doing another massive tour. We all know how much he hates touring and how ill it made him last time. Now unless he is going to preparing for the tour, by going to the gym 3 hours a day or something, then i don't see how this could be in any way true. As for Knebworth - well it would make sence, as it would save him having to do loads of shows at Wembley, but still - I would've thought for his next tour he would do Wembley stadium. The whole article is just hilarous really, but nice to read about him coming back. And now with reports of the new album set for a September 23rd release - I can't see any tour till mid 2009.
December 28, 200717 yr ooooo the cynic in me can see lots of sceptical Inner Scrotum members signing up in their hoards just in case of concert tickets <_< ..... interesting timing non? and of course is just a rumour so no comeback on Robbie.com
December 28, 200717 yr Oh. You made a separate thread. :smoke: I was tempted but I laughed so much I lost my concentration and forgot.
December 28, 200717 yr Author Oh. You made a separate thread. :smoke: I was tempted but I laughed so much I lost my concentration and forgot. I had only just noticed you had posted it in the News forum :P If there is any tour next year, we will be notified by the IS well in advance, as it will be announced ages before tickets go onsale, so people would be pretty silly to pay £30 just based on a story fromt he Star

December 28, 200717 yr     No way will there be another tour next year....he found it hard enough getting through the last one...... ^_^
December 28, 200717 yr I know its hogwash, yep I do lol..but I also view it as a bit of positive retaliation, thats been long overdue, just seeing the facts and figs of his 06 tour and putting it out there has to count for something. It also could be that his PR machine is being oiled ready to be wheeled out.
December 28, 200717 yr Author I read somewhere recently that Rob gets 25% of all profits from the tours including merchandice etc, so if it grossed £170m, then the £32m must've been what he got after he payed tax? And EMI get the other 25%. I wonder where the other 50% goes to? In Good Company? Although I suspect, the tour would've cost a fortune so a huge amount of it would be used for that.

Fags? Maybe he has a 'creative' accountant.... :P
December 28, 200717 yr Well it makes sense, as at the moment, a new album looks like it is on the way.
December 28, 200717 yr So according to that article, the Tour comes before the new album? That's a novel idea....
December 28, 200717 yr Author Take that back. He did that with Rudebox.   EXACTLY :( I trust he and his manegment know exactly what they are doing. He needs to, as he said last year 'promo the f***' out of the next album and beat people into submission  A September release is PERFECT, then he can do huge promo, then a tour summer 2009, NOT a huge one though unless he is prepared and really wants to do it. Instead of doing loads and loads of gigs in 70,000 + capacity venues in dozens of countries, he should try and pick the biggest venues there is in each country, and do one or if neccarary like in the UK, two or three, huge gigs. He could do Knebworth, and then Phoenex Park in Ireland :o Or Slane :o  It does make me excited about the notion of a new album and new tour though. And by late next year, the anticipation will be huge for a new album. :w00t:
December 28, 200717 yr Until you hear the first bars of track one on the new album.... 'Come fly with me, come fly let's fly away.... in llama land etc etc' Then you'll be :nocheer:
December 28, 200717 yr Next year will be a well good year for music. :o Thats as long as Madonna breaks her legs and cant do jack$h!t all year.
December 28, 200717 yr I don't mind Madge. Although I wish she'd stop cavorting about in leotards..... Silly old mare.
December 28, 200717 yr Author Madge is one of the few female pop acts I can tolerate, although I agree about her getting rid of those bloody leotards :puke: Next year is going to be just great though. My four fave acts all releasing albums :o I am most looking forward to the following releases: Robbie U2 Oasis MJ R.E.M Coldplay (apperently it's going to be a very different sound and it produced by Brain Eno)
