Looks like a church. I am hoping to go to Maastricht because that is where my grandfather was saved in the Second World War. :cheer: My aunt and I share an interest in family history, so I asked about this incident. My mother couldn't remember, but my aunt did.

Was your Grandfather in the army then ? Or is he dutch maybe.

 

I heard lots of dutch people risked their own life to hide people for the Germans.

It's a long time ago but for some people it's still very hard to talk about.

It was a long time ago, but it is still remembered here. Both my grandfathers served in the Second World War. I have been to both places where my other grandfather served.

Ohh it´s still remembered over here aswell. May 4th is an official day where we honour the brave people who gave their life for their country.

 

It´s good we´re reminded every year how gratefull we should be to live in a free country today.
