Posted January 5, 200817 yr http://mysky.sky.com/Assets/Image/StaticFiles/2511910.jpg The One and Only BBC One 7.20pm, from Sat 5 Jan If you were worried that Saturday nights were going to feel dull and drab with feather-fest Strictly Come Dancing coming to an end, worry no more. The BBC has found a way to keep the glamour on our TV screens with a show even camper than it's shimmeying predecessor (if you can believe that's possible). The One and Only sees the UK's best tribute acts battling it out for a coveted three-month performing contract in Las Vegas. The Legends In Concert show is one of the world's longest-running celebrity impersonator shows - and with a prize like that, don't expect the contestants to play nice. Swing kings, rock legends and disco divas will sing their hearts out live every week, and like every show on telly these days seemingly, it's the public vote that will send one act across the Atlantic on the experience of a lifetime. As the weeks count down, we'll follow the contestants as they're put through their paces and try to transform themselves ever more convincingly into their idols. And no doubt we'll be equally wowed by the increasingly sparkliness of host Graham Norton's suits - well, who else could host this show? Which act has the look, the moves, the charm and the voice to be voted the UK's best tribute act? Tune in for some serious karaoke
January 5, 200817 yr Author Robbie http://www.bbc.co.uk/theoneandonly/superstars/robbie/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/theoneandonly/system/tribute_act/image/8/large/Robbie_Williams.jpg Teen idol and multi-award winning vocalist and songwriter Robbie started his career when he auditioned for a new boy band called Take That. Formed in 1990, the band sold nine million albums and generated Beatles-type hysteria from fans. When he went solo, Robbie’s career went stratospheric. In 2002, it was reported that Robbie had secured a record-breaking deal with EMI worth £80 million. And when he performed three concerts at Knebworth back in 2003, he attracted over 375,000 fans, setting a record for attendance at the venue. The feisty Stoke-on-Trent lad has sold more albums in the UK than any other British solo artist in history, has won more BRITs than any other artist to date, and was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004. UK Number Ones: Six Best Known Track: Robbie’s power ballad ‘Angels’, released in 1997, sold over two million copies worldwide and spent 227 weeks in the charts worldwide. Eight years after the release of ‘Angels’, the British public voted it the ‘Best Single of the past 25 Years’ at the 2005 BRIT awards. Renowned For: Dating a string of female celebrities including ‘Ginger Spice’ Geri Halliwell, Nicole Appleton and Rod Stewart’s former partner, supermodel Rachel Hunter. Did You Know: Robbie has his own football team ‘LA Vale’, which started off as a kick-about with mates in the back garden of his Los Angeles home. January 5, 200817 yr Was going to make a topic on this. Tribute Acts + Britian = Robbie & Queen Tribute Acts. :kink: Who are genrally crap. :P
January 5, 200817 yr Author This should be a laugh  I am watching it now, and it's the car-crash TV you'd expect  Not sure if they are doing the Rob tributes tonight. They have done Frank and Madge so far. It is great though that Rob is ranked among all those legends, most of which are twice his age or dead. Puts into perspective what an icon Rob has become at such a young age :D No way will the Rob tribute win though, as the prize is to perform in Vegas, so it is highly unlikely. Same goes for Kylie tbh.
January 5, 200817 yr      I hope it will not be a case of :puke2: :puke: :smoke: Edited January 5, 200817 yr by Scorpio

Same goes for Kylie tbh. I once saw a video of an Anastacia Tribute once, it was done in drag. :smoke: And yeah, it always is a laugh. I hope they show it all tonight, it's funny, all Rob acts always try and hold a cockyness about the way they act, sing and dance around the stage, I always find it funny. :P
January 5, 200817 yr Author Oh they will definatly sing Angels. probebly that and LMEY or Rock DJ
January 5, 200817 yr I just saw the first part, it was certainly car crash material, and they chose the wrong Madonna, she was so whiny, I really thought Natasha was good out of all three and looked the part. I just hope they pick the right Kylie Minogue in the second part.
January 5, 200817 yr Author They just did the Robbie's, and they were pretty awful, but the guy who won definatly looked the most like him. The superfans were not at all what you'd expect though, especially the older man who did'nt even appear to be a big fan.
January 5, 200817 yr At leastr the guy that got through did not look like a total ' t***'...none of them were great singers though.....
January 5, 200817 yr Author I agree. He did look like Rob in ways and made an effort with the tattoos, but you are right, none of them were great singers. You could see that when it got to the chorus on Angels
January 5, 200817 yr To be honest the right Robbie won, but all three couldn't sing to save their own lives, I don't know why I watched the show but it was funny, at least the right Kylie went thru to the live shows.
January 5, 200817 yr Well i would prefer to have a Robbie that cannot sing to having a Robbie that looked like a total ' Moron'...would only give the press more ammunition..... <_< ...Yeah' the Angels chorus kinda got them alright..... :P
January 5, 200817 yr Author The guy who won is a successful Rob tribute act who performs in Holland. I remember we had a thread about it before, I knew I saw him before  He has his own site as well  http://www.robbiew.nl/ Here is a pic of him with Rob :o http://www.robbiew.nl/fotos/promo/robbieandrobbie.jpg http://www.robbiew.nl/fotos/promo/RobbieW_0051.jpg Thanks to PR

B) ^_^ Do you think that Neil Taylor would oblige & perform the Come Undone guitaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar' bit..... :P :P :P :P :P :P  I bet Jonny W taped the show for Robbie ..........    B)
January 6, 200817 yr What were those 'superfans' qualifications???? All the other superfans had big collections or had seen their idol a million times. Robbie gets a family from Stoke  I was expecting it to be Jups & Sparkle at the VERY least ;)
January 6, 200817 yr Wonder how they selected them.... <_< bet they got do it because they came from Stoke.,.....
