Is a cat fight bubbling? R&B singer Mariah Carey reportedly blasted rumors she was planning to collaborate with pregnant singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, saying it would "never happen."

 

When asked about a possible duet, she belted to Inside Hollywood (website): "I'd rather be on stage with a pig! A duet with Jennifer Lopez and me just ain't going to happen."

 

This isn't the first time the diva singers have come to blows.

 

They first crossed path in 2001 when Lopez sampled two songs from the soundtrack to Carey's movie 'Glitter' in two versions of her own hit track 'I'm Real' for her album 'J.Lo.'

 

A Source on the set of 'Glitter' said at the time: "Mariah was so paranoid about the music getting out that we had another singer sing the temporary versions before the film was released.”

 

"When Jennifer Lopez's album 'J.Lo' came out, and had the exact same song on it, we knew she had a right to be paranoid. We couldn't believe her audacity."

 

Shortly after the scandal, Mariah was interviewed for German television and questioned about fellow divas.

 

When asked about former 'Destiny's Child' singer Beyoncé Knowles, Mariah complimented her beauty and talent.

 

But when she was questioned about Jennifer, Mariah looked incredibly uncomfortable and said: "I don't know her."

 

The feud was recently reignited when Mariah was told Jennifer has eight hours of sleep a night.

 

She cattily laughed: "If I had the luxury of not actually having to sing my songs, I'd do that too."

Ha, I love Mariah. I think this is really old though, I remember when they tried to get them to perform together at the Grammy's and there was some comment like this. I read it on a few blogs today though so I'm not sure why it's came back up :S

it's false. mariah's spokesman issued a comment saying it's all lies.

Yeah for once Mariah actually spoke out against the rumours and said it's completely false.

Mariah Carey is fighting back against a new Internet report that suggests she is feuding with Jennifer Lopez.

 

The report, which has spread in the blogsphere Tuesday, includes a quote - supposedly from Carey - saying that she would rather appear on stage with a certain animal than ever share a stage with Lopez. The story, Carey tells PEOPLE is "a complete untruth."

 

Carey insists that the quote did not, and would not, come from her.

 

"This is just some Internet gossip and it's pathetic that people actually entertain the thought that this could be real," Carey adds. "This is another sad example of two strong women being pit against each other."

 

Carey has a new album due out in the spring, shortly after Lopez is due to give birth.

I sort of want this all to be true because they're quite good lines Mariah didn't say. Shame.

Apparently what she said "I duet between me and Jennifer Lopez just ain't gonna happen." which isn't so bad.

 

However do you see there's quite a few artists that are struggling going on about duets with Mariah? I mean come on we've had Whitney ('Nuff said), Janet (which isn't so bad now that Feedback is taking off) and now Jennifer Lopez who is flopping everywhere. She's like the fairy Godmother. :lol:
