Has anyone heard anything about this rumour??

I saw this on the forum today, and a person said that Radiohead and Paul McCartney have already left and Robbie William is leaving after his next album with Coldplay soon to follow.

I hear Robbie is being dropped because of his "lack of success" which I found positively astounding but hey whatever i'm not particularly fussed. I don't really think Kylie needs to leave EMI, they do right by her and vice versa.

didnt robbie's manager say robbie wants to sign to a smaller record company i seriously doubt he will be dropped, i think robbie wants a smaller record deal to take of the pressure to deliver huge sales all the time.

As for Kylie i doubt she will leave, they have done so much for her since 2000 they helped rocket her back to the top and she has helped them also

EMI has definitely helped Kylie a lot. However, she is currently not happy with WD DVD not being released in Australia. That's the first thing. Secondly, a wave of artist is leaving such as Radiohead and Coldplay. So there must have been some issues going on there and Kylie is one of them involved. We don't know what happened behind the door, but it's very likely that she is not happy with Parlophone.

Besides, do you know that EMI has been taken over by a private group?

If Kylie were to leave what record company do u think she should sign up with??also if kylie was to leave i would assume parlophone would want to cash in which would probably mean a greatest hits of material since 2000 only im sure

She should sign up with Warner Music so that the problem with White Diamond DVD would never happened again. Plus, she can replace Madonna. :P

She should go to Sony BMG. They're really good and if she signed to Jive in America she could get more attention there.
Elle & Neil from the Kylie site are now saying its true so I guess it is guys. Its v v rare they wrong
I think Kylie should leave parlophone. I agree they have helped to relaunch her career after the disappointing success of the decon era but I feel its time for her to move on and find a new direction. She's only really had one major big album with Parlophone and that was Fever on the back of the incredible success of Can't get you out of my head. Ultimate also sold decent amounts but her other albums have only sold average really. The last few singles havent done massively well. With the support of a new record company and the right songs, Kylie could do really well.
Kylie has never been an album artist though. I still think all the Parlo album have done very well considering.

Where did you hear that?

There is not a chance EMI would drop him, I know they are beyond stupid but they are not quite that bad yet. He is their biggest cash cow, hence why they paid him such a ridiculous amount of money. They have got their £80m back several times over at this stage. They made it within the first two years amazingly. Anyway, it is not EMI who are treatening to drop Rob, he himself has actually gone on strike in protest of the new private firm 'Terra Firma', who have taken over EMI. His manager said he will not be releasing his final studio album for a company who are so out of touch with todays music business, unless they can prove they have top notch plans to promote and market his next album. It will be very interesting to see how it all pans out, but one thing that is for sure if that EMI are slowly but surely falling apart as a record company. If things continue they will have no major acts in 5 years time. Macca has left, Radiohead have left, and now Rob and Coldplay are refusing to release their new albums, and both will most definatly be leaving after their contracts are up. Parlophone do actually seem to be pretty good at promoting Kylie though, and they are different then the main EMI I think, even though they are one of their companies. I would'nt be suprised if she did leave though, considering how bad things appear to be for EMI atm.

i agree that kylie isnt a big album artist but she does well with albums at the same time and she has done very well with her recent 5 albums with parlophone
Kylie is very much an albums artist. She may not used to have been, but when your last 5 albums all sold platinum or better I'd say you definitely are. ^_^ She's less of a singles artist in my mind.
i understand what you are saying but i do agree she is very successfull with albums but her singles are always classed more important by critics i think
Kylie has always been and always will be a singles artist over an album artist. The statistics prove it

How? Look at the second week drops of so many of her Parlophone singles!

On A Night Like This: 2-11-18-25-40

Please Stay: 10-18-19-25-39

Love At First Sight: 2-8-11-21-33-40

Come Into My World: 8-22-35-40

Chocolate: 6-18-27-33-40

Giving You Up: 6-16-25-35-40

Nearly half of her singles from the last 7 years dropped 6 places or more during their 2nd week of release! It's only ever the first 2 singles from her albums which do really well, whereas the albums have all achieved platinum or multi-platinum status! I don't think you could say that these days she's more of a singles artist than an albums, at all.
