Posted January 10, 200817 yr We were talking about this in our media lesson the other week and for some reason it just came back to me  What films make you sob the ngiht away?
January 10, 200817 yr The Notebook. Its my fave film EVER and everytime I watch it I end up in tears
January 10, 200817 yr Really random ones actually :/ The most bizzare one was X MEN :| I've no idea why i did cry :( I think the main two are Bambi and E.T though. Sad :(
January 10, 200817 yr Really random ones actually :/ The most bizzare one was X MEN :| I've no idea why i did cry :( I think the main two are Bambi and E.T though. Sad :( Bambi :( Fox And The Hound  Monsters Inc.  Yes I do love a good Disney film :P
January 10, 200817 yr Erm, shouldnt admit it, but I cry at a lot of movies LOL. The Green Mile makes me all teary eyed everytime I watch it though :P
January 11, 200817 yr Dancer In The Dark is the most heart wrenching film ever. If you don't cry at that film then you are made of stone. Another random one that choked me up was Deep Impact lol.
January 11, 200817 yr Stand By Me made me cry. I think another was Brokeback Mountain and maybe even the above-mentioned Notebook, cannot remember for sure.
January 11, 200817 yr Really random ones  Stepmom did, as did the Notebook but then theres ones like Step Up and Mean Girls that make me cry :/
January 11, 200817 yr Great topic, Untamed hearts with Marisa Tomei and christian Slater makes me blub uncontrolably, the ending is so unfair and even though I know what's going to happen I always wish it would turn out differently (silly I know!) True Romance  (Christian Slater theme going on here) is amazing the unconventional way Alabama and Clarence love each other just maks me think would my guy take a bullet for me? I think not! ha And lastly Forest Gump Tom hanks "Jennie why don't you love me" gets me everytime I'm going to get a roll of andrex now!
January 12, 200817 yr I completely forgot about beaches. I nearly flooded the room out when I watched that. Mac and me made me cry and short circuit I doubt anyone would remember them especially Mac and me I miss his little pop belly!!!!
January 12, 200817 yr Yeah. 'Beaches' must be one of the most tear-jerking films ever. I just need to hear the first line of Wings Beneath My Wings on the radio and I'm sniffing away  :P
January 12, 200817 yr apart from ones that you cry with laughter (like borat) lilja 4-ever I daren't watch Lilya4ever, everyone tells me how horrific it is. I have it as part of the Moodysson box set, but I just watch Together and Show Me Love because they leave me feeling happy  Ever since Dancer In The Dark, I don't think I can put myself through something like that again!
January 22, 200817 yr A Walk To Remember The Notebook Fox and the Hound Stand By Me Whats Eating Gilbert Grape? The Basketball Diaries Titanic Love Story Oliver's Story
January 22, 200817 yr I find pretty much all of these "Tear Jerker" sorts of films to be incredibly cheesy, emotionally manipulative, and anything but actually genuinely emotional because the characters are just so one dimensional, cliched ciphers... In short, they're just big, fat fakes.... The real emotional films come out of how an actor can interpret a part and position him or herself to a degree that they make the plight of that character seem utterly believable.. John Hurt's magnificent performance as John Merrick in David Lynch's superb "Elephant Man" gets to me every time, because he is so believable and it does create an actual response... Similarly Bjork in "Dancer In The Dark" who makes us totally sympathise with her character... So, it's not necessarily the film itself that makes you cry, I believe that it is the quality of the acting itself and how well drawn and believable the characters are, that illicits the emotional response more than the actual film..
