:unsure: A few questions about the U.S. chart. When does the u.s. chart actually get counted down. Is it on a Thursday i.e. Week ending Wednesday and Secondly - What is the correct U.S. chart for Sales & downloads. Also, anyone know the answers to the same questions on Australias chart. :)

It doesn't get counted down, but the top 40 airplay chart does every Sunday. Billboard posts the official numbers every Thursday though. And charts start over again on the same day the chart is issued, the cycle is Thursday to Wendsday, I believe.

I always believed that the main Billboard charts were counted Monday through Sunday the week before because, for instance, Hits Daily Double compiles the sales the following Monday and Tuesday. Then on Wednesday the charts start to get released and on Thursday Billboard actually updates their site with the charts.

They are still counted from Monday through Sunday the week before they are published (on Wednesday)! -_-

 

Anyone know why the Billboard charts are dated a week in advance?

:) Thanks for your help. So basically, for instance the week ending Sunday 13th January. The sales and downloads from the week 07 - 13 January will be announced Thursday 17th 2008 and the sales from Mon 14th Jan to Wednesday 16th will go on the following Thursdays chart, the 24th. Have i got this correct. :unsure:
