EDIT/UPDATE...

From Fasination Records...

I am sorry for all of this confusion. The venues leaked the information

before Sophie was able to announce it herself. I am afraid it is true.

The tour has been moved back again. I understand that this is going to

be very problematic for many fans but am afraid the label don't have

anything to do with the tour.

We are currently putting Sophie's comment up on myspace and her

website.

I am really sorry for the disappointment this must have caused.

Apparently someone spoke to someone at the SAGE and the manager said there its been put back to OCTOBER 08 but other venues are saying they are still selling tickets as normal...

wierd

maybe its just the Sage who is postponing

oh for peats sake :(

The Sage Gateshead have just been told by Sophie's management that the release of the "Best Of" album originally due out to coincide with her tour in February has been delayed and that all gigs will now need to move to October. The Sage Gateshead are working with Sophie's colleagues to identify that new date and will be in touch with all Sophie Ellis-Bextor ticket bookers later this week to confirm arrangements. It is likely that existing tickets will remain valid for the new date.

why would they move it to October? that would be over a year and a half since TTLF was released...

I will be seriously mad if thats the case

At least she does G-A-Y alot and IF the tour is postponed again then I can see her there I guess

It wont do her career any good at all cancelling another tour will it

Sophie wrote on the official forum this afternoon...

first the bad news, my tour is to be postponed. i wanted you to hear it from me first but i understand some venues leaked the information. the good news is that the tour will definitely be rescheduled and it will accompany the release of my Greatest Hits which means the tour will feature new material. i am sincerely sorry that i've had to move the tour and don't want to upset my fans but as my greatest hits is scheduled for release later in the year i really want to spend my time until then writing and recording the best new songs i can. all i can say is that, as with the amount of time i spent making my third album, sometimes it's worth going the extra mile to make sure the music i'm making is the best it can be. in this case, i promise that the tour and new single will be as good as i can possibly make it. please try to trust me and bear with me! the support i have from my fans means more to me than anything and i don't take it for granted. thank you for your ongoing patience and i hope you agree with me once the tour and album are released that i made the right decision.

I hate it when stuff keeps getting postponed. Fair enough if it happens once, but its not really on when it happens again whatever the reason.
I'm so annoyed at this. What stopped her from touring twice? She could have done the March tour and then toured again in October to support the Greatest Hits if it's that important to have a tour to support it. I'm guessing it was due to low ticket sales, but so what? She's doing small venues anyway (the Birmingham one hold about 250/300), so what's the problem

The Sage holds quite a few I think. (Hall One = 1700, Hall Two = 400, and its in Hall One)

and I agree two tours would have been fab  A TTLF (like it was supposed to be) followed by a GH one.

I just hope The Sage keeps its date whatever the weather with sales :( or moves it to Hall Two if it has to :(

The Carling Academy, where she is playing in Birmingham, holds 3000, but Sophie was playing in Academy 2, which is upstairs and holds around 400 people. Two of my friends work there and they found out that she sold 127 tickets, which is really bad.

They still don't know it's cancelled though. It's still listed as March 14th on their website and I emailed them and asked and they replied saying as far as they know it's still going ahead. Very strange.

will be strange considering she's said herself it's off again, so they'll be quite surprised when she doesn't turn up to the venue
