Posted January 17, 200817 yr Found this on the Sun's site, in an article about forthcoming albums in 2008: RAZORLIGHT: If it’s as big as Johnny Borrell’s ego, Razorlight’s third album will be an all-conquering, multi-platinum classic. Johnny went into the studio with the band on October 29 to start writing it. SFTW approves. Rock needs characters like him. If they went into the studio in October, we can expect an Autumn 2008 release, with the lead single coming out towards the end of summer Wonder what sort of sound they'll go for?
February 2, 200817 yr Author It's been confirmed it's in production stages as theres a couple of articles explaining how its being written in Scotland: Johnny Borrell To Write New Razorlight Album In Scotland RAZORLIGHT frontman Johnny Borrell has a secret passion for Scotland and has chosen to pen the band's third album in Tiree. He said: "I love Scotland. I've just flown back to London for a few days before I go back to the Hebrides to finish writing songs for the third album. "I have always gone up to Scotland a lot because one of my best mates when I was a teenager lived up in Scotland. "He was called Scottish Andy, which is a really original nickname. "And it's him I've been staying with to get some peace and quiet to write the new tracks." Razorlight writing "Scottish" Album Johnny Borrell is writing Razorlight’s third album in Tiree in the Hebrides, Scotland after he visited the area a lot as a teenager to see his friend “Scottish Andy” (from Daily Record). Thanks to Damon for finding these articles ^_^
June 11, 200817 yr Razorlight Working On Third Album Razorlight have started working on their third long-player and already have an albums worth of material written. Speaking to the Daily Star, bassist Carl Delamo says: "We've got 12 songs that we could easily lay down now. Two or three months ago we didn't really have any of the songs written properly, nor had we played the ideas together. Now it's coming together really well." One new song, named 'Frequency', was previewed at a solo show by drummer Andy Burrows, this weekend at London's Union Chapel. The last album from the band was 2006's 'Razorlight' and the follow-up - which will be their third full-lengther - will be released later this year. http://angryape.com/news/2008/06/10/razorl...-on-third-album
June 11, 200817 yr 4 months on from the last post in this topic, and it seems they have 12 possible new songs and 1 definate new song called Frequency :w00t:
June 16, 200817 yr I'm Johnny Borrell's partner in rhyme, reveals Razorlight co-star Andy Burrows RAZORLIGHT'S Andy Burrows has revealed he has a "healthy songwriting partnership" with the band's singer Johnny Borrell. They are working on their third album, which is due out later this year. Drummer Andy said: "There's plenty of songs of Johnny's on there and a few songs that we wrote together, so I think that's a nice healthy balance. "At the end of the day, it's Johnny who has to get up there and sing from the heart. "I certainly didn't come into the band with the intention of writing. "It's just the way it's gone and we have struck up a very healthy songwriting partnership." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/entertainment...86908-20606514/
June 16, 200817 yr Author I hope the new album sounds decent then, since as all the stupid rows/split rumours have been crushed. Again Expecting a December-ish release, personally

June 30, 200817 yr Author From NME: Razorlight ready to lay down '12-song album' Band heading into studio this month to make a start Razorlight are prepped to start laying down tracks for their third album. The follow-up to their 2006 Number One record 'Razorlight' is reported to be shaping up well. As previously reported, the album should be out later this year. Speaking to the Daily Star, bassist Carl Delamo said: "We've got 12 songs that we could easily lay down now." The writing's come round quickly too, and Delamo added: "Two or three months ago we didn't really have any of the songs written properly, nor had we played the ideas together. Now it's coming together really well." The band unveiled another new song at the weekend, called 'Frequency', which differed from the track they played at drummer Andy Burrow's solo Union Chapel show in London. Delamo said of the latter song: "I'm not really sure what that one is finally going to be called yet." The band's next UK gig will be at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday party at Hyde Parkin London on June 27. Delamo said of the gig: "It's insane to play for Nelson Mandela on his 90th birthday." Glad to read this tbh. If I could pick any faults from their 'Razorlight' album, it'd be that it felt too short at just 10 songs
July 4, 200817 yr I wonder when it'll be ready? They seem to have most of it planned out, so hopefully we get some big news in the next month or so B)
July 19, 200816 yr Go on the 46664 website then the highlights section then on Razorlight. You can hear them playing a new song as part of their soundcheck.
July 24, 200816 yr From NME: Glad to read this tbh. If I could pick any faults from their 'Razorlight' album, it'd be that it felt too short at just 10 songs Is that a fault? I'd rather have a great 10 song album than an album with 18 songs that feels 5 or 6 songs too long like many unfortunately have. I just hope all the songs are good and if the first two are anything to go by then it should be! :D
September 6, 200816 yr NME Says... "Razorlight have fnished recording their third album. The record, made in North London, will be released on November 3rd. Track titles and a name for the album are yet to be confirmed." So we should hear something by the end of the month, hopefully!
