Posted January 18, 200818 yr Triple BRIT nominee Mark Ronson says he "won't stop being friends" with Amy Winehouse despite the recent tabloid rumours about their relationship. Click on the image above to watch the full interview, in which he talks about his close pal plus working with Barry Manilow and why he'd make "a good president of America". The DJ / Producer was snapped leaving Winehouse's London flat after Monday's BRIT Awards 2008 launch party at Camden's Roundhouse, and according to one paper the pair later left for a trendy hotel, where they spent several hours before Winehouse left. But he told itv.com:"Yeah, it's bizarre. I think Amy is obviously somebody who is subjected to a paparazzi whirlwind and you just think you are harmlessly hanging out and I guess you will get dragged into that." He added: "But, she's a good friend. I'm not going to stop hanging out with her because there's a chance someone's going to print some ridiculous made-up story the next day." Ronson produced many of Winehouse's hit records including Rehab, Love is a Losing Game and Back to Black from the album of the same name. The UK-born producer, now based in New York, is up for Best British Single at next month's BRIT Awards, for his reworking of The Zutons track Valerie, featuring Winehouse on vocals. He is also in the running for Best British Male Solo Artist and Best British Album.
