I think any song to spend a long time at #1 would surely be remembered in years to come. I think we will remember the way that 'Umbrella' was at the top of the chart for most of the summer, which was one of our considerably worst summers in recent years for a long while. It's things like that that help songs become 'classics' I think.

I think songs like 'Angels', 'Together Again' and 'Wannabe' (and most of the Spice Girls singles) are old enough that they are already classics, for the 90s anyway, if not all time.

I agree that 'Baby One More Time' and 'Crazy In Love' will probably become classics, everyone knows that Britney song. I think 'Patience', 'Rehab', 'About You Now' and 'Bleeding Love' may become classics, but they are too recent to be sure really.

edit: Oh and as much as I can't stand him, 'You're Beautiful' by James Blunt will probably become a classic too.

Can't think of any other...

It won't be considered one, but I personally consider What You Waiting For? the best pop song of the 21st century.

I second. Whether people like it or not, that album is pretty much the most influential on the pop scene of recent years.

From the 00s I think

Shakira - Whenever Wherever

Madonna - Hung Up

Beyonce - Crazy In Love

Rihanna - Umbrella

Kylie - CGYOOMH

Atomic Kitten - Whole Again

S Club 7 - Reach

James Blunt - You're Beautiful

OBvs I don't like lal of those but I mean already those songs are karaoke classics or defined by many as Pop Classics and I'm sure there's loads more.

IU'd pick totally different ones however :heehee:
