if this is so, then why isnt el presidnte playing on sunday?? their playing t in the park on saturday

Sheesh - might have guessed it. Right, it's not exactly the same bill. For instance, Bell X1 who are big in their homeland but tiny in Scotland might not play TITP.

El Presidente will not play Oxegen for exactly the same reason, but in reverse.

Is it just me or are all these festivals (Reading, Leeds, 02, T in the Park, Oxygen, V, etc...) with very similar bills to them just smacking ever-so-slightly of Corporate Over-kill......? And incredibly over-priced to boot...

Get out of UK and go check out some of the Euro Festis, much more variation and you are guaranteed to hear some very cool European bands that you'll have never heard before.....

There's also loads of smaller festivals popping up in the UK - about twice as many as there's ever been!

The reason the same bands play the big ones is cos the big bands WANT to play the big ones and the big ones WANT the big bands to play.

I'm going to Reading, but I can see myself frequenting the dance tent and smaller ones...especially on the rock day - not my thing at all really.

Yeah, it's all a bit boring really tbh, about the only UK festival that offers anything different is Download...

But, in saying that, I'd probably do the Sunday at O2 just to see Depeche Mode, it's not as if they're festival whores......

well, im going to glastonbury, i dont think thres a better festival than glastonbury

The Glastos that I went to in the 90s, I'd agree with you, but now that's just another Corporate event these days (Kylie Minogue to headline in '07? Yeah, rockin'....... <_< ), rip-off ticket prices, booze prices, etc; you wont get much change out of £200 for a three-day ticket next year, I can almost guarantee it.....

Wacken, M'Era Luna, Treffen/Leipzig, Roskilde, Anarchy Industrial Fest in Bratislava....

We are not going to see Athlete.

Of course it bloody matters, Glastonbury should not be turned into just any other bloody pop concert ffs..., I realise that in the past Glasto's gone for people like Tony Bennet, Tom Jones, etc, but there's a certain cool, randomness factor in that and it wasn't as if they were the Sunday night headliners...

If she plays there, you will be paying for her whether you actually watch her perform or not, half the ticket price will go just to her alone...

:o I really, really hope she isn't there then.
