A woman who was knocked down and trampled on at a Robbie Williams concert has been awarded €25,000 damages.

Sandra Brady was hit by a surge of fans as the former Take That singer rocked the stage in the Phoenix Park, Dublin.

David Burke, for Ms Brady, of Ashbrook Avenue, Dundalk, Co Louth, told the court that on August 9, 2003, she was one of 135,000 fans at what was the biggest open-air concert staged in Ireland.

He said the concert promoters, MCD Promotions Ltd, of Park Road, Dun Laoghaire, had employed 900 crowd control bouncers.

He said that according to documentation provided to Ms Brady's legal team, this revealed a shortfall of over 160 bouncers.

Mr Burke said the promoters had originally estimated they would require 1,066 crowd control staff.

Ms Brady, a 31-year-old beautician, said she had gone to the Phoenix Park with friends and during the concert she had queued for a snack at a food bar.

She told Judge Jacqueline Linnane the area where fans were queueing for food had not been properly cordoned off and she was hit by a surge of people. She had been knocked to the ground and trampled on.

Subsequent X-rays in hospital revealed her left wrist had been fractured. It was placed in a plaster for several weeks and her work as a beautician had been affected by the injury.

She told the court that while the injury was resolved within a year, she had been left with a click in her wrist. She still experienced a weakness in the joint.

Judge Linnane awarded Ms Brady €25,000 damages against MCD Promotions in the Circuit Civil Court.

The judge said the company was a diligent promoter which had organised a lot of successful and safe concerts. Unfortunately something had gone wrong on this occasion.

A FORMER manager of Robbie Williams and Take That has won more libel damages after Robbie falsely accused him in a song of stealing.

Nigel Martin Smith was awarded an undisclosed sum in the High Court yesterday against Chrysalis Records, the producers of Robbie’s Rudebox album, which included the allegation in song The 90s.

The company apologised and said it had never intended to accuse Mr Martin Smith of theft.

Robbie, 33, has already paid Smith damages and costs of around £500,000.

Only advance copies sent to the media were affected and the words of The 90s were changed before the album went on sale.

Robbie's gone on strike (and so has his razor)

Rock stars are meant to have ruffled good looks.

But Robbie Williams, the man hiding behind the bushy beard and shaggy hair, may have taken things a little too far.

To be fair, he's not actually on rock star duty at the moment.

He has declared he is on strike in a row with his record company EMI. His next album is on hold and he is refusing to go on tour.

He was spotted taking a coffee break with friends on a skiing holiday in California.

Having a rest hasn't done much for his appearance, however.

With bags under his eyes and distinctly bloated features, the 33-year-old singer seems to have lost the slick looks - and cheeky grin - that helped propel him to stardom.

In his early days as one of Take That, his boyish good looks made him a teenage pin-up. Since then he has grown up and out. He has also been in and out of rehab.

Friends were hoping he had conquered his problems after his latest stint in a clinic last year.

Hair today: Robbie Williams has been sporting a bushy beard on his skiing holiday in the U.S. (left), and his usual look as a bit of a smoothie.

Oh FFS, would these people ever just shut up!!!

He is on a bloody skiiing holiday with his girlfriend, I am sure he has better things to be doing than sleeping. Yes he does look very tired, but so what? That does'nt mean he is on drugs ffs. UK tabloids proving once again to be thick as pig $h!t.

Robbie dumps Guy over Gary

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...ticle762603.ece

I HAVE found out why ROBBIE WILLIAMS has been stuffing his face with muffins and hanging about with oddball DAVID ICKE.

The star has split up again with old songwriting partner GUY CHAMBERS – who he discovered is now working with GARY BARLOW.

That’s the showbiz equivalent of your two best friends starting a new gang and leaving you out.

The beardy pop nob’s former TAKE THAT enemy is putting new material together with the man to whom Robbie owes a large chunk of his success.

And, to make matters worse, Gaz and Guy were working together on Robbie’s doorstep in LA.

Oh, and Rob’s old pal MARK OWEN got in on the act, too.

A source said: “Robbie and Guy patched up their differences last year. They had been back in the studio trying to find the spark that produced Rob’s best material.

“They gave it a go but it didn’t work out – they had both moved on. But while they were working together in LA, Guy was asked to work as part of a team with Gary on a new TV show.

“He never mentioned it to Robbie. Rob heard Gary was in LA working and found out it was with Guy. He wasn’t best pleased when he heard.”

Guy, Gaz and Mark are part of a team of 12 songwriters working on new ITV project Britannia High. The eight-part reality show aims to recreate cult Eighties series Fame.

It will follow students through the audition process, performance classes and all the way to the release of a single.

Strictly Come Dancing judge ARLENE PHILLIPS is involved in the big-budget show, too.

It sounds exactly like the kind of thing Robbie should be doing.

But, then again, he is on a self-imposed strike from his arduous life being signed to EMI.

The label who made him “rich beyond his wildest dreams” had the nerve to ask him to graft a bit harder for his money.

Rob’s fall-out with Guy a few years back was bitter to say the least. He and Gaz were also at each other’s throats for years after Take That split.

But they had a bit of a role reversal over the past year. Once-podgy Gaz is in the best shape of his life and has become a national institution – while Rob has piled on the pounds and become a figure of fun.

Now he’s spending his days with David Icke discussing crackpot theories, drinking powerful coffee and skipping around his house with JONATHAN WILKES.

Gaz, Guy and Mark together are bound to produce material better than anything Rob has done since Feel in 2002.

He’s a sensitive soul, our Rob, so hearing about Guy’s new project will be causing him a lot of anguish.

Hopefully enough to make him pull the finger out.

Yet another load of pointless $h!t from the sun :)

"Once-podgy Gaz is in the best shape of his life and has become a national institution – while Rob has piled on the pounds and become a figure of fun. "

What complete and utter bull$h!t that article is. Not only has the ridiclous bull$h!t article pissed me off, but the fact that all the Sun's thick as pig $h!t readers actually fully believe this and slag Rob off saying he has done nothing since he split with Guy in 02. How bloody braindead are these people? Clearly any moron can tell it is complete c**p. I mean even an outsider who knows nothing about Rob or Guy, can clearly see the contraditions in the article. First Gordon the t*** says that Rob and Guy split because it was'nt working out, then he tries to claim Rob fired him because he was working with Gary. Guy is'nt even working with Gary on songwriting, they are just both working on a TV reality show, so it shows how ill-informed and deluded Mr Smart is. Never has anyone had such an inapropriot name as Gordon Smart, because with each article he writes about Rob, he proves himself to be anything but smart. And he can't even spell knob correctly. Such a laughable joke of a journalist, for such a laughably appailing paper

This article is even more proof how utterly thick the British tabloids are. http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/artic...partner_1058488

Guy RICHIE?

And his lyrical partner? So they only wrote lyrics together? Strange, I seem to remember Guy saying Rob wrote all the lyrics and melody's and Guy wrote the actual music, but whatever, the media MUST be correct

What a pile of absolute cack. I read that Sun article at my morning tea break and I was in a snarley mood for much of the day.

Good grief, I would be well worried if Robbie was reduced to contributing music to a 'Fame Type' Reality Show. Rock n Roll indeed

And you are correct. You have to worry about any journalist who can't spell the word 'knob'. Unless of course 'nob' is short for 'nobility'. :P

BLOB: "TAKE TATT"

06/02/2008

http://www.mirror.co.uk/showbiz/3am/2008/0...89520-20310466/

It seems Robbie Williams is so bored sitting on his massive backside that he has decided to sell his body.

A group of artists have asked Blobby - who is currently on strike, not that anyone noticed or cares - if they could use a picture of his chest tattoo to advertise a new exhibition in Bilbao, Spain.

The porky karaoke singer's sketch, pictured here near his neckline, reads "Chacun A Son Gout" the name of a new collection by Basque artists.

Translated into English it means "Each To Their Own".

Yes, very Robbie. He's unique you know. The poor unloved little soldier is refusing to release any more albums with his record label EMI because they don't love him enough, or something.

So instead of eating crisps and entering his own name into internet search engines all day, we wondered what else he could do to fill his day?

How about being a roadie for Take That? We reckon they are going to need someone to help carry all their Brit awards after the show on February 20.

Would be good exercise for him as well. Come on Blobby, pick up the phone.

WTF!?!?! Having his tatt used as the main advertisement of an Art display would be pretty darn good.

How dumb are these girls? Carrying Take That's Brit Awards, do they not remember that Robbie has the most Brit Awards out of any artist.

Honestly they must write for free. Thats why their 'articles' (and I use that term lightly) are so bad. -_- Or perhaps they pulled off their wigs and realised that they are infact monkeys that just randomly hit the keyboard. :o

and people pay money for this paper!!!!!
They just get worse by the day don't they?
Bah...february news finally given its own thread

I have a google news alert on Robbie and read that article in The Mirror earlier on. Made me so pissed off

Some nerves they have writing about Rob like that !!

No respect at all. It's just pathetic :smoke:

That Mirror article is an utter disgrace. It is disgusting that these f***ing bast*rds are allowed to get away with this. It is pure bullying, victimisation and slander, and it should not be allowed. This has to be the worst and most personal article they have wrote about Robbie, and for no bloody reason. It's so childishly and unprofessionally written. It is a total non story, and just an exuse to tear him apart. What the f*** has he done to deserve this? You would think he was a bloody murderer with the way he is written about.

The way they are completelly wiping out all his achivments and making him sound like a useless desperate hasbeen laughing stock is infuriating. And then to make matters worse, the predictable TT reference thrown in as per usual. For months the Sun and the Mirror were harping on about how TT's Rule The World was going to be nominated for an Oscar, and when it never happened there were no mention of it again. Had that've been Rob it would've been front page news ffs. :teresa: If they don't win any awards at the BRITS are even just one, the media will not mention that either. It is so boring and has been going on far too long now. I am just totally sick of it. We are all used to Rob being slagged off constantly, but this article stoops to a new low, especially now these new 3am bitches have ridiculed us fans on fansites in todays paper. It i just not right, as Rob has done nothing to deserve all of this bitter harrasment other than take a break and grow a bloody bread ffs.

What have they said about 'us fans'? :arrr: :arrr: :arrr:

Such childish delusional bitches  I just cannot wait till Robbie comes back and shuts them all up. You would think someone who has been taking time off since December 06 would'nt be written about to bloody much. It seems the longer he stays away the more than slag him off. A performance like Live 8 would be ideal to shut these bugrudgers up. ^_^

So they spend their time reading Robbie Williams fan websites? How sad and pathetic.
