... be able to avoid setting a new alltime low primer league score. The current worst is 15 points. To make sure they don't enter the top 2 worst scores they would need to get past 19points. Derby currently sit on 9points.

I think they may just get to 15/16pts if they're lucky right at the end of the season.

What was Sunderland on in points at this stage of the season on that record low season?

At this stage - after 25 games - Sunderland were on 10 points.

No. Well they shouldn't anyway. Paul Jewell is showing real potential with that side - made some EXCELLENT signings for them in January and they've been unlucky to pick up a point or three on numerous occasions since Jewell took over.

It's pretty much a given that they'll go down but if they continue playing the way they are then they don't deserve that dubious honour by any stretch of the imagination.

As a Sunderland fan, god I hope so. I'll admit it doesnt look likely now, but I can tell you now that even if Sunderland don't stay up this season it wouldn't be as hard to take if Derby went down with 14 pts or less and took away our unwanted record. Ive got nothing against Derby, but its got to be broken sooner or later
I thought they had no chance of finishing on higher than 15, but after the draw away to Birmingham im unsure. That said, the only 2 games they have left i can see them getting points in is Fulham and Reading at Pride Park. I reckon they'll end on 13 points ^_^
