Posted May 22, 200619 yr from stereoboard Pete Doherty's Babyshambles Dropped By Record Label Written by Stereoboard.com Sunday, 21 May 2006 Babyshambles have reportedly been dropped by their record label Rough Trade due to the outrageous behaviour of Pete Doherty, although a spokesperson for the label has denied this mornings reports. The infamous label, that brought us the likes of The Smiths and The Strokes, had released the Babyshambles' debut album 'Down in Albion' last year. A string of incidents by troubled rock star Pete Doherty is reportedly to blame for the split. Last week the singer squirted a syringe of his own blood at a MTV camera crew, and had reportedly injected heroine in front of the production staff. This now appears to have been the final straw for Rough Trade, an industry insider told the Sunday Mirror, "That was the last straw for Rough Trade. They couldn't put up with that sort of behaviour any longer." "There's only so much they could take... and Pete's gone way beyond that. Rough Trade backed Pete as much as they could. But whatever their fondness for him as a person, it's a business as well, and he had become a liability." However a spokesperson for Rough Trade has denied that the band had been dropped. She told BBC 6Music that the record deal had come to a natural end, and added that the door was open to renegotiate terms on a new record contract. Babyshambles are currently without a record deal, manager or even a press officer. LifeLight
May 22, 200619 yr Not suprised, they've bailed him out enough times -_- "What a waster, what a f*cking waster, you've pissed it all up the wall" :( As he once sang himself... -_- Quite appropriate... Basically they told him that they won't release another Babyshambles album unless he got off the drugs and he said he wouldn't so they had no choice. I just hope this isn't the end myself and he gets off his arse, does another album and maybe this time get it PRODUCED? but I have very little hope.... :(
May 22, 200619 yr Well, it was produced by Mick Jones...and you can't get blood out of a stone...even if you can quite easily get blood out of Doherty *sorry*
May 23, 200619 yr perhaps now he'll just disappear and never bother us again *prays* the guy hacks me off big time, and that doesn't even begin to cover it. his band is $h!t, he's $h!t, his whole sorry ****ing circus of a life is $h!t. even the NME hate him now. they couldn't understand why he made number 2 in their recent heroes list. he'll never get off the drugs and go straight, everyone should just piss off, leave him to it and maybe he'll realise what a sad pathetic little excuse of a man he really is. it's admirable that Carl Barat has got a new band together and is doing really well with them. that is how it's done. Doherty needs a smack in the teeth and a giant wake up call. he's had his chances, but he pisses it all away. and now all he ever gets in is the 3am Girls and Bizarre columns in the tabloids. if everyone just stops putting his picture in the paper every time he pulls some 'wacky' stunt then surely he'll realise that no-one could give a monkeys
