Sum 41 Message To Fans

The four of us as Sum 41 have had an amazing time traveling the world with Dave, living the dream we all had growing up in Ajax. Dave Brownsound's decision to leave the band saddens us as friends, but we understand and support his decision to pursue a new musical path. We wish him the best of luck. We want to let our fans know that we're busy in pre-production for our next studio album and have never been more excited about the music we're creating. We can't wait for you to hear it and look forward to seeing you all very soon.

Bizzy, Stevo and Cone

I can see why, his vocals and guitar playing made him more fit to be in a metal band,i suppose they'll get a new lead guitarist rather than stay a trio.

He's a pretty amazing guitarist, some of the solos on there last album where great.

Oh, I got mixed up with the drummer ...I thought it was him that had left !!

Well they fit in this forum rather that the Rock and Indie forum.

Actually, no. That's where I would've gone to start a thread on em anyway - they're lightweights, Punk is stuff like The Clash, Pistols, Be Your Own Pet, Amen, Anti-Flag, etc....

Believe me, if you'd ever heard proper Punk, you'd run home screaming....

He's the one who wore the Iron Maiden T-shirt for one of there promo vids :o . Quite a good guitarist.

Scott i'm happy to have a topic about Sum 41 in here, it makes the forum more lively. I agree that they aint real punk but this place is where i feel they're most suited.

Well, there first two albums where described as pop-punk, there last one is more metally.
Whatever, i'm happy with them here. Bands that i don't really like go into my own made up catagory called "cock rock". Except there isn't a forum for that, and it's my opinion which others won't agree with. Anyway, pop/punk, light punk, light metal whatever. i say it stays here.

Ohhh, I haven't really heard any of their songs so I wouldn't know.

I'm quite happy with them being in this forum though.

I agree. It's only a messageboard, and for the purposes of that Sum 41 fit better in here than they do in the other forums.
