April 13, 200818 yr Author   Now that i would pay to see :cheer: :yahoo: Maybe next time ;) Another fantastic show by the TCB Band this afternoon :yahoo: James Burton, Jerry Scheff and Glen D. Hardin were joined by members of Monde Carne and the wonderful vocals of Jenson Bloomer. Forget the ETAs and Elvis Imps, Jenson backed by members of Elvis’ original TCB Band is the second best way to listen to Elvis’ music, after Elvis himself  Jenson doesn’t attempt to look like Elvis, nor impersonate his voice, he just sings the songs, and boy, he does a fabulous job of it. From Heartbreak Hotel, to Just Pretend, Suspicious Minds to An American Trilogy, he belted them out. No fancy stage show in this small venue, just the guys making music because that’s what they love doing :cheer: A funny moment when, James had to do a quick retune of his guitar and Jenson quipped that it was about time he bought himself a decent guitar  Ever smiling Jerry put in a personal request for ‘Bridge’ and we were rewarded with a beautiful version of Bridge Over Troubled Water, so close to Elvis’ own which I love so much. These guys are so much a part of Elvis history that it is truly an honour to stand there and watch them play, and again, like the last time I saw them at the Robin, the crowd was so diverse in ages, from youngsters of ten to the ones who grew up on his music. I was standing (well dancing cos I can never keep still  ) next to a group of teenagers and it reinforces my belief that Elvis and his music will be listened to for generations to come, simply because he was the King and his music was so good! All I can say is, if you get a chance to see the TCB Band, grab a ticket Thankfully, for the moment at least, the guys aren’t showing any signs of wanting to retire, and why should they, when they can rock as well, if not better than bands half their age Here are a few of the pics I took. It’s times like these that I wish I was a wee bit taller :( http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/elvis1959/IMG_0048.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/elvis1959/IMG_0050.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/elvis1959/IMG_0054.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/elvis1959/IMG_0059.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/elvis1959/IMG_0062.jpg

Tickets for the spectacular shows in The Netherlands and Belgium go on sale next April 21st (exclusively for ElvisMatters Members) and on May 13th (for non-members). Published: april 15th 2008 07:24 AM. Source: ElvisMatters / Published by: ElvisMatters - Peter Verbruggen I so wish that the UK was included in this tour. It would be fantastic to see this lineup of Elvis musicians and groups here. I was lucky enough to see these and others in Memphis and it was magical  Terry Mike Jeffrey is another great vocalist and, like Jenson, he does the business without trying to impersonate Elvis.
April 15, 200818 yr It would be brilliant if they did the tour here in the UK, i would definitly go and see it. :yahoo:
April 16, 200818 yr Author It would be brilliant if they did the tour here in the UK, i would definitly go and see it. :yahoo: From what I've been reading, the gigs are organised by Fan clubs in the various countries and all they need is some support from fan club leaders over here  So come on guys, we want to see it too :yahoo: From Peter of ElvisMatters posted on Elvis News How I wish we could go to the UK too. But none of the fanclub presidents I contacted was prepared to take the 'risk'. We're still open for shows in England, though! But being a Belgian based fanclub, we can't do it all by ourselves in the UK -- we need help from other promoters or fanclub prez... But the offer still stands!

April 18, 200818 yr Author Glen D. Hardin, the piano player in Elvis' original TCB band is celebrating his 69th birthday in Randers, Denmark today. Glen D. Hardin was born on April 18, 1939 in Hollis, Oklahoma. Glen is in Denmark at the moment to play three shows with the other TCB band members and three Danish artists. The first show will take place tomorrow in Randers, Denmark. Happy birthday Glen! :cheer: Thanks to EPGold.com Glen is here on keyboards in the pic I took on Sunday :yahoo: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/elvis1959/IMG_0054.jpg
May 5, 200818 yr Author Just found this on the TCB Band website. Review of the two shows the band did in the UK last month, including the one at the Robin2 which I was lucky enough to be present at  http://tcbfanclub.com/index.php?option=com...&Itemid=117 Jerry Scheff is of course the bassist with the TCB Band and the Elvismatters website posts this B) Members of the TCB Band Fanclub had the opportunity to chat with Jerry Scheff on sunday evening. For more than an hour, Jerry talked with the fans and answered their questions. His favorite concert with Elvis was the opening night in Vegas in 1969, his favorite songs to play are 'Polk Salad Annie' and 'Just Pretend' and his all time favorite Elvis song is 'You've Lost That Loving Feeling'. Next to the Elvis era, he loves the song 'Riders On The Storm' from The Doors, where he played the bass. His most legendary non-Elvis concert was with Bob Dylan in Blackbush, England (1978) where he played for more than 300000 people. In his free time, he loves to coock. When traveling all over the world, he collects recipes of local dishes and trys to make them at home under the name 'Chef Scheff'.
May 6, 200818 yr Author Take a look at this  Looks like guitar playing is certainly in the Burton family genes :yahoo: Three Burton Generations On Stage http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/elvis1959/3burtons.jpg What a treat the Belgian ElvisMatters has for the Elvisfans attending the James Burton Live Show on May 17 in Holland (Eindhoven) and May 18 in Belgium (Mol). Not only will this be the very first time that James and his own Band will play before a European audience - but James will bring his son Jeff, 'The Fender Bender' and guitar hero himself, but also his grandchildren Skylar (16) and Taylor (13), who both play guitar as well. With so much guitar talent together in one building, we can't pass up the unique chance of having the three generations together on one stage, with four guitars. This will be a unique and one off experience, which nobody can afford to miss. The fan club has a few tickets left, so be sure to order them today at peter@elvismatters.com Source: ElvisMatters / Updated: May 6, 2008 Wow, would love to see that show :cheer:
