Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what do we do if Eurovision comes along and Serbia is still rioting?

I obviously expect everything to calm down by May, but there always is the "what if" situation.

I also wonder about what this will do to voting. A lot of hostility is currently being shown toward Albania and Slovenia [as well as every other EU country] by Serbians. If it still is an issue, will it show in the points?

The EBU are holding emergency phone conferences this morning to decide whether or not to move the Contest from Belgrade.

It's not very likely, but it could be coming from Sweden or Ukraine instead.

Wow! I wonder what will happen...Ukraine would love to host it again
Serbia will host Eurovision 2008.
Well at least if Slovenia/Albania give Serbia points, or vice versa, it'll be another point showing there is no such thing as political voting given the current situation -_-
It's too dangerous to host it there.. i had this thought when the country won... i'd love to see it come back to the uk and be hosted here, hopefully that is what will happen.

I wouldn't exactly call it dangerous, it's not like there'd be a terrorist attack and things will have almost certainly calmed down by May...and I doubt we're first option tbh after our dire presentation of the EDC, which basically turned it into a European version of Strictly Come Dancing - I mean come on, putting it in front of a studio audience?

If it was moved away from Belgrade (which I hope it doesn't), and Ukraine declined to host it, surely Russia should come next - they did finish 3rd last year, after all.

And besides, people were saying that the Contest in 2004 would be moved after the terrorist attacks in Istanbul in late 2003 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Istanbul_bombings) and the 2002 Winter Olympics would be moved from Utah after 9/11.

Yeah, i guess, if we don't get it then i dont care if it remains in serbia lol

Why would UK host it? Chance for that to happen this year is zero. As I know, some people in here were working to prepare Eurovision in Serbia, and right now there's no any news about canceling Eurovision in Belgrade and moving it in another country.

The BBC were often the first choice back when the winner didn't want to host the following year, so for it to come back here again would be excellent! It won't happen though.
It'd be unfair. No way.
I agree it would be unfair, but if the situation in Belgrade is the same in May as it is at the moment, I don't think there'd be much of an alternative!
But, it won't be.

it's not like it will happen tomorrow and it's all dangerous now and we are all scared  it's in MAY for God's sake!

and it was confirmed by the EBU that there are no changes and ESC is staying in Belgrade ^_^

Com'on people like Eurovision is the most important thing wright now on Balkan. You really think that Serbian president thinks about Eurovision. Im sure he's trying to calm everything. After all he doesnt want war. Noone normal does. Look you all have no idea how its being a part of war. And people in Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Monte Negro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and now Kosovo really dont give a $h!t (it's rude, but i have to say it) about Eurovison. Now the only thnig important is not to have another war...

War on terror anybody? Whilst we may not be in direct danger in here, the UK is actually involved in a war as we speak! And tbf, a terror attack is probably more likely in Britain than anywhere else in the world atm. Oh and we have won two World Wars. But yes, I concede most of us - if not all - were probably not actually born then.

Yeah... I know UK is in the war now, but it isnt in UK its in Iraq.

And yes I know everything about terror attacks. And it's all very sad. I have planed to come to London last summer and than everythnig was canceled couse od terror attacks.

But as you said World Wars ended before you and me, and everyone here were born.

I just hope someone (like EU, UN) will do something about this...

And then our main problem will be where will Eurovison take place...

It's really nice to hear some positive opinion like this. :D

Ok, I agree, most important thing is to keep peace now. But, this is Eurovision forum, so here people talk about Eurovision as main thing, while there are more important things. Funny, isn't it?
