That's so true of both reality shows. They tried to make him fit their mould and so did Mercury, but he was never cut out to be one of a group nor a teen/pop idol. It had nothing to do with his ability to sing the stuff.

 

As Robert Plant said tonight on TV "If you can sing, you can sing anything."

 

I think he neede 'Dived In'. For me it was a joyous album. He had so many songs that meant something to him in that era - and meant something to us too. I'd not have liked him to remain the same but I would have liked a bit more media support when he moved to the next step.

I still use Dive In to chase away any blues. I just can't be miserable listening to those songs.

It stilol makes me smile.
