3 obvious reasons why Andy should represent us:

1. He had the best crafted song (of the 6 we were allowed to choose from)

2. He was the ONLY singer to sing in tune

3. The majority of the UK voted for him.

Now we may well question the voting tactics in Mevedyev's win in Russia yesterday but dare we question those bastions of integrity, honesty and fair-play - the good ole British public?

I think we should send Kate Rusby and her Village Green Preservation Society. Quintessential English folk music.

Morris Dancers in the background could bang sticks and dance round the May Pole.

^ LOL

To be fair I don't think there's any way you can argue against this vote, the song won because the British public liked it best it wasn't a novelty and I don't see what the XFactor has to do with it. The point is each country sends a song which respresents their musical tastes, the fact is that if Andy won the televote then his song does just that more than the other five songs. At this point I'd also like to state that I can't stand his song but I do think it'll stand out from the other ESC songs so we might pick up a couple of points that way.

well if he wants to drop out due to death threats in post-independent kosova serbia i think he could be easily replaced by howard brown from the hailfax

my mum thought it sounded very much like errol brown from hot chocolate

He may have a slight skin tonal resemblance to errol brown, but I will happily supply your dear old mum with a new set of hearing appliances if she thinks she sounds like him too! Bless.

:cheer: The British public must've done SOMETHING right, as Andy's song is currently the co-leader in the LEADING ESC poll on the web! The same poll that predicted the Serb win last year, and bottom two for the UK and Ireland.

What I do find ironic tho', is that the members (on various ESC forums/boards on the web) who are having the biggest hissy-fits about the UK entry are all Irish!

What was it they taught us about your own doorstep... !?

Hmm...down to 6th now in that poll but he does seem to be more widely liked on Eurovision forums than Daz and Scooch...then again Javine was liked by a lot of people but it didn't exactly translate into success did it...

Might have been more successful if she hadn't had a bad throat all week and in the Final. (Plus we performed second that year - which would have needed an amazing performance, especially with Malta performing afterwards. Shame we didn't get one.)

Ooh just found it on ESC Today. Switzerland are in the lead, United Kingdom joint sixth. ^_^

Like her or not - Michelle Gayle was our best chance - ok, she was out of tune in parts - but it was trashy, throwaway and as catchy as scabies - PERFECT for Eurovision.

Andy's song is the pits - he performed it like he was a cruise-ship entertainer and his song marks our third seriously duff entry in a row.

I'm gonna love everyone's U-turns if he does well

I shall judge Europe for bad taste!! :D

'Even If' hasn't been released though yet.
