Lewis: 'Jamelia must be insecure'

Leona Lewis has put Jamelia's criticism of her down to the R'n'B star's insecurity about her own career.

Jamelia branded Lewis a "poor man's Mariah Carey" in a tabloid interview last year, before predicting that she would "fade into obscurity eventually".

However, Lewis blamed the comments on her fellow singer's own fears, saying: "If people are being horrible to you, it stems from their own insecurities. Jamelia said some nasty things about me, which hurt as I've never met her.

"I don't know if she definitely said it, but if she did it's sad. Us girls should support each other. I still think she's good and I wouldn't say anything bad about her."

Lewis will debut new double A-side single 'Better In Time' / 'Footprints In The Sand' during next week's semi-final of Dancing On Ice.

For the record kids, Jamelia never said a bad word about Leona and is a fan of Leona & her music just like you & I. From what I heard too, Jamelia settled it all with Leona back when they shot 'Saturday Night Divas' so I think this is tabloid trash.

Jamelia's post, clearing up the sh*t about Leona:

Dear Fans, I have felt compelled to come on here and let you guys know the truth. As you all should know, I am an extremely outspoken individual and will say it like it is. But one thing you should know for sure is that I'm not unnecessarily bitchy. Yes, I say things that are close to the bone, but I never have or will say disgusting things about people without just cause.

Which brings me on to a recent "interview" I had with 'The Poor Man's Eva Simpson' - Dominique Hines of the Star Magazine. In the interview, I was asked a series of ill thought out questions, most of which were to lure me into saying headline making comments about other celebs. Yes, to some of those questions I made some bitchy comments - none of which were about Leona Lewis. This 'journalist' wasn't happy with me being nice about Leona, so she had to make **** up so her piece was more interesting & so it could then be regurgitated in the tabloids as gospel. Well I was going to sit back and do nothing, but she did the same thing to me the last time and I'm not standing for it. Certain people in the media find it hard to write a nice, positive story. Certain people are not content with artists showing each other love and appreciation. Some people are afraid that an artist thinks it's okay to co-exist in the music industry. Some people are only happy when cross words are fired. Well **** it, it's so not gonna happen.

The facts are, I think Leona is amazingly talented. I don't understand why she didn't have a record deal already. I think Simon made the right choice and I don't think I even have to say it, but it's obvious she will be enjoying success for years to come and i will be buying all of her material! I don't dislike her. In all honesty I don't even know her, but iI do know talent when i see it.

This is not a retraction of any statement. This is what was not printed. What WAS printed is also known as bullsh*t.

Its amazing how it's so easy for some journalists to just make **** up. This girl just invented so many "quotes". We've asked her to produce the tape & now she's vanished off the face of the earth - go figure! usually I leave it and don't react, but it really p*sses me off. They're pathetic. Not all of them, but some.

Yes, I'm very angry and I apologise to my fans for my language. But sometimes, you just gotta get dirty!

Hope you're all doing well. Love to you all. I'll speak with you soon

Yeah this is taken from an interview months back before Leona met Jamelia at Saturday Night Divas, this article is extremely late in reporting it. They've totally spun what Leona said, she never said Jamelia was insecure about her career, she said first that people who say bad things are usually insecure and then went on to talk about Jamelia and so the article has linked the two together.
If I was Jamelia, I'd have sued the paper that printed those false quotes about Leona being a "poor man's Mariah" and the other sh*t that was said. She can sue, right? Or would it not be worth bothering with?

Probably isn't, it'd cost her money to sue them and would take a while so might not be worth it.

She wouldn't get much anyway would she? Ugh. Shame.
Yeah, it seems to be an old article with something about her single added to the bottom. I think Leona said this before Jamelia did that blog setting the record straight.
