The WHO SHOULD BE AXED rollcall.

Sean

I know he's leaving anyway, but I think the character deserves the humiliation of a good old axing.

Considering the number of plots and scenes he has featured he in, Sean still remains an underdeveloped character. We've never been shown what motivates him, why he's an arse still etc. But now I wouldn't even care if they did, because he has become SO unlikable, particularly with current Gus plot.

Ronnie

AXE or give her a personality.

Jack

Just plain irritating. The guy is only there because of his looks. There is nothing interesting or unique about the character. How many times have we had the womanising, arrogant, dodgy club owner now EE?

Bianca

I was never a fan of Bianca and Ricky, but I was still intrigued to see what their return would bring. And the answer was dreadful acting from Patsy Palmer. I'm pretty sure she is capable of better, but at the moment she's just AWFUL, she seems to be playing an over-the-top characture of Bianca.

The only positive thing right now is that Pat has something to do, but I'm sure there are plenty of other ways for the writers to achieve that.

Ben

Even by child standards, the actor is DREADFULLY wooden.

agreed, but bianca isnt the only one whos become a characture of her own character. try peggy, pat, ian, ... basically the older ones who have seen themselves lampooned on satirical comedy progs.

I'll agree on Peggy; everytime she screeches "Get out of my pub!" you know the writers are having a silly chuckle to themselves.

Ian I think is still capable of depth beyond the characture; his ability to forgive and bring Steven back into the family after everything he did doesn't really sit with his usual image of the selfish, whiny flop businessman.

Was so glad when Sean got punched lol, just an alright episode overall though, reckon it could have been better.
I can't wait to see the back of this wedding storyline, its really bringing the show down atm.

Fabulous epidode. Regarding your views on who should be axed, Shoat -

Ronnie

I think she has a personality! She's cold and guarded but at times emotions get the better of her and we see some sort of caring, loving sister behind the scowl. I'm interested to see how her and Roxy's storyline will develop with regards to Roxy's history with drugs.

Jack

I'm never sure with Jack. Again, I think at times he is quite interesting...I'd like something more of his past to be unveiled.

Bianca

Oh I think she's great! I guess the real test will be whether she can deal with a really, really dark storyline - and I'm not talking O.T.T. sobbing on Pat's shoulder about the kids' housing situation. Plus, she's a vehicle for the introduction of Whitney who I think has massive potential on the show.

Ben

Absolutely shitting awful.

And I wonder mind seeing any of the following go, either:

Garry

Garry hasn't been relevant since Lynne left! Now all he does is make bitter remarks about how those around him are happy and/or in love and he has nobody. Useless. Get rid.

Ricky

Really quite pointless. He's soppy, annoying and weak.

Billy

Without Honey there's really nowhere left to take Billy's character. Falling in love again, after being perfectly happy with both Mo and Honey, will just be ridiculous. Out please!

Patrick

If the rumours about

Yolance committing suicide

turn out to be true, he'll surely leave anyway? I hope so.

Mickey and Keith

Keith may as well have left already, he's not been in it for that long, and Mickey is becoming the new Gus! They could lose these two, and Darren could live with Libby or something instead.

I'd bring back these:

Sharon

Sharon was always a favourite of mine and Letitia Dean's eyebrow-heavy acting is always a sight to behold. Bring her back and put her behind the bar of the Vic or the club! I can imagine she'd come to blows with Ronnie too. That'd be nice!

Denise

I know she's coming back anyway (at least I think she is) but Diane Paris really is a great actress.

Finally, I'd make better use of this lot:

Clare

At the minute she's doing nothing but swan around in short skirts chasing a guy who has little to no interest in her. Give her some meat, something to really get her teeth into! I don't know, she could become a model or something (unlikely, I know. Ha!).

Shabnam, Zainab and Masood

Shabnam has the potential to do what they never quite managed with Dawn, and form a really interesting young woman who didn't just wave her hair around and scowl at the men who use her. Zainab and Masood are both really great with the comic scenes.

Ridiculous over-analysis of wonderful television show complete. ^_^

:o that better not be true

hope its not true either ^^ Yolande is one of the most realistically portrayed black characters in soap and the actress who plays her is fantastic imo. She needs to be given a much bigger part in the show.
I would hardly call her realistic, not of late anyway :heehee: All she does it tut and pout at local scandal and b**ch with dot before being proved wrong and looking like a total fool. None of the old Yolande seems to exist anymore.
Maybe not at the moment but she was fantastic in the storyline with Patrick last year, hence why she needs some proper storylines of her own (and im not talking about rubbish like when Patrick went off with Pat either). I'd love to see her at the centre of the show, maybe start running the pub or something :heehee: ok not likely to happen but they need to take her character further than standing behind the shop counter all day.

I think you'll be getting your wish with

Mickey and Keith

, I'm pretty sure it was announced they were axed a few months ago.

I'm with you with Ricky actually, forgot to include him on my list. He really does add nothing, the show already has Billy, Garry, Keith and Ian fitting the whiny loser role.

With you on the Masoods. Zainab has proved she's great at the catty comedy, we need more of that! Shabnam has potential, as long as they DON'T make her a carbon copy of Dawn (although on the subject I have to say Dawn's character has MUCH improved since Mad May, and I'm liking her trying to act step-mum with Jay).

Claire is being wasted. They need to decide if she's going to be a gold-digger or not. At the moment she seems to be teetering on the edge, and she'll just end up being an inconsistently written character.

Also with you on Denise; Diane Parrish was one of the better performers over the past couple of years.

I've never been fussed with Sharon however. With Pauline, Dennis, Zoe and Chrissie gone, it only really leaves Phil for her to really interact with, and I think that's been done to death now.

I would hardly call her realistic, not of late anyway :heehee: All she does it tut and pout at local scandal and b**ch with dot before being proved wrong and looking like a total fool. None of the old Yolande seems to exist anymore.

I'm horrified by the

Yolande suicide spoiler

. Firstly I don't see how on earth they could realistically achieve that, there's just no reason for her to.

But I do agree she's being inconsistently written. Her first couple of years on the show she was a great breath of fresh air, always so positive, warm and vibrant. But recently it's like she's turned inside out and is determined to be the resident moaning, bitchy pensioner. Now I wouldn't mind having a Blanche(CS)/Edna(Em) character on EE, but just not Yolande. She already had a great character, and the show needs all the positive characters they can get.

I say bring the old Yolande back, give her a few decent storylines too. And if they want a b**ch, bring Queenie in full-time.

great episode tonightt they is so much going on its great they are runnning a few storyoines together which i always like, eastenders really is on top of its game now

We've no idea if it's true or if so whose decision it was yet Shameless. :P

Bloody ODD episode tonight. I liked it, but very DARK and weird. Why are people acting so odd? Why did Jane have a face like a slapped arse all night?!

And I so could not cope with Queenie in the show full-time! :heehee: I'd probably end up crying on Heather's behalf or something, lol!

Im sure this night in Eastenders has lasted about 4 episodes now LOL
I love when that happens :heehee: About an hours worth of action spread over an entire week!
