Yeah, Sean will back in about 3 years time probably LOL. Tonight's episode however just made me realise how much i cant stand Stacey at all!

Loving the Denise/Zainab scenes though, wish they could have juicy storyline instead of the Brannings/Mitchells.

i enjoyed the 2nd episode although i expected better and it was a bit confusing but its great that sean wasnt killed of

They filmed two different endings

BOLLOX, BOLLOX BOLLOX BOLLOX

my considered view on the crimbo ee.... all that utter nonsense falling through the ice...yeah... like how come they only stood on the weakest bit of ice and the surrounds didnt break?... they ALWAYS do! no way would they have got out like that AND wtf was sean doing walking away in the freezing conditions into nowhere?... AS FCUKIN IF!

lauren?... p*** OFF. its already been established that that little girl couldnt have driven the car...

ee has returned to its nonsensical storylines writen by enid blyton or some such fairey story creator.

Take an aspirin or something. It really is not worth thinking so much into; the whole concept of a soap is to make people go 'ooh!', it's never going to be entirely realistic - but if you want to criticise there are a lot of ropey plots which should come way before a small matter of thin ice :heehee: And 'we' haven't established that Lauren couldn't have at all. YOU have 'established' that.

i see your new username is an accurate reflection of your personality

but your attitude is daft.... in that case they can produce anything in a storyline, regardless of reality... its nonsesne. the essence of a GOOD drama is its reality, it has to be true to life. if you or anyone accepts that that little girl could competantly without lessons, drive that car the way it was driven... you are BONKERS.

but then again, just look at the state of music/youth culture/ life today.... its all built on illusion with no substance, the plastics are evidence of that, then theres mass produced manufactured musical crap..... some of you dont half swallow a load of shyte.

ee has been good recently, it has been realistic, it has been believeable, but now its slipping back to nonsenseville and will lose viewers as a consequence. dramas dont HAVE to be shocking, they do have to be realistic.

thats a matter of opinion....

And his hair was bone dry don't forget! So nice of Amy's soaking wet mum to pick up her baby and use her as a hot water bottle!

I agree with you BC! Total crap! All the soaps were crap over the holiday season but I think this was probably the worst.

Rab C Nesbitt was far more touching and believable.

I'm going now before I get told off for saying how awful EE is!

So nice of Amy's soaking wet mum to pick up her baby and use her as a hot water bottle!

Oh yeah, that was just a tad ridiculous, my mum and I chimed in at the same time to criticise what she did while watching it. Even if you're not thinking straight you don't start hugging your premature baby after being dragged out of an icy lake.

I did enjoy Eastenders over Christmas, I just found the conclusion to that storyline a bit disappointing.

how anyone who watched coronation street over x mas can claim another soap was worse is beyond me,corrie over x mas was even more unbelievable than it usually is,,this wasnt eastenders best ever christmas storyline climax but it still offered mor ethan the other soaps

Sorry ... but they were all as bad as each other. If anything ... Emmerdale came off best ... at least their 'falling through the ice' thing worked - it looked cold and realistic.

disagree. corry might have been its usual poor self, but the storylines were more believable then that ee tripe. it was utterly wrong.

emmerdale did come off best, victoria played a blinder (for a change) they actually shivered when they came out the water, and with its mix of drama and dry comedy emmerdale remains my firm fav. plus marlons BRILLIANT moving portrayal of betrayal was the best 'relationship breakdown' moment ive ever seen...

Here's a really good solution to your problem Rob... stop watching? If you want realistic situations watch a documentary or something. No TV drama is ever really realistic.

stupid idea.... <_< how would i know if there was a good storyline? who says you have to like something to qualify for watching it? EE has potential and historically it has been entertaining, my anger is directed at poorly executed plotlines or fairy stories. 'no tv drama is ever realistic?.. god you are showing your age.... maybe not in your short lifetime m8 but bbc dramas have always been revered .... just look at lark rise to candleford, the realism in that semi-true drama is spot on.

i like nick cotton.... but i bet his return will be another duff one like dirty dens <_< which is a pity as that character has plenty of believeable potential storylines... just watch the kiddy writers c**k it up.

Calling them 'kiddy writers' shows up YOUR lack of knowledge 'mate'. The EE writers are very respected within the industry...

And Lark Rise is a period drama. I'm talking about modern, entertaining TV dramas. As a rule, if you're after something totally realistic, you will not find it within this genre; surely you don't deny that?

You're possibly the only person I've ever spoken to who demands realism from a soap. Most appreciate the daftness of it all.

I point out The Boys From The Blackstuff - OK in the 80's but not too far back enough to be called 'period' drama. Just pure, 100% classic writing, acting and direction. Really - Eastenders is dire, Coronation Street isn't far behind - but they are just entertainment 'fluff' - there to sell things like it says on the box 'soap opera'. None of them are drama - modern or otherwise.

By the way ... I actually don't demand realism from soaps and I would never, ever say that Coronation Street was a reflection of real life. I do expect good writing, acting and directing though - with a heavy does if possible ... of humour. CS still has a little of that but EE has none - it never did.

Each to their own obv but to say EE has no humour is madness. :heehee: It has plenty.

*Cue a 'joke' from Rob about how the only joke to be found on EE is the scripting/acting/whatever. Har har.*

I love Eastenders, my favourite soap. But the new year episode was unrealistic. I have already said this previously, but it would be pitch black underneath that water because it was really dark.

But, like someone said, a soap is to watch and not get to deep in thought about. I do agree with both points. I still think Roxy and Sean's acting over the Christmas period has been absolutely fantastic, the best in recent times in soaps.

How immense was tonight's epi?! Loved it! Some great acting, even from Max (!) and from Jean and Whitney especially. Dramatic!

Janine's I'm sick of being GOOD. From now I'm gonna be BAAAAD was also muchos fabulos.

they are 'very respected within the industry'? bugger off! their scripts are getting dafter, good drama writers ALL portray realism. EE storylines are constantly let down by BASIC reality errors... like sean just walking off into the night, freezing cold, dripping wet... like that daft bint holding that baby just after she had also got out the highly illuminated frozen pond , like having lauren drive that car... ffs! its those basic believable errors that ruin ee. if those writers were really that good then theres utterly no reason why they cant create entertaining, gripping, fascinating, storylines that ARE within the bounds of credibility.... they just did a sterling job with the p**** storyline.

as for lauren... who tf would look at her and believe she could drive a car? the police would just laugh at her!!!! now if it was tifany, ok, at least she big enough to reach the pedals!!!!
