............ lol.... i hate basement jaxx ,

Bonkers!

They're one of those bands that everyone seems to like or atleast likes a handful of their tracks. What is it about them you don't like?

i cant relate to the sound, they seem too 'hard' and 'in your face'... i find them unpleasant to listen to.

the Jaxx are brilliant and have great videos too...not just a load of boobies bouncing up and down like in mistry of sound's promos.

maybe something like Flylife is a bit demented but Romeo

tho they seem to have been slightly eclipsed by Groove Amada over the last year (the last kosher GA album was great)

I think it's far more productive to use the classification of electronic music, basically starting with Kraftwerk and Giorgio Moroder and going on from there. Only a complete idiot would deny that these have had no lasting influence on popular music.

i would go with that argument - tho have to forget about Moroder's together in electric dreams (and the no doubt equally vomit endcing cover by the feeling) as its perhaps one of the worst records ever

Basement Jaxx get compared to Celine Dion??

Love it!

Basement Jaxx get compared to Celine Dion??

Love it!

only it there repugnance m8... sorry, i accept people like them but it just aint my bag!

Another one of my dance faves from the early 90's is Don Pablos Animals take on Venus.. Brilliant. !

Check this unique live performance by Future Sound of London:

The first song is We Have Explosive, the second is Papua New Guinea (the show really begins at 2 min and 20 sec)

Highly recommended!

i have to agree... scooter, 2 unlimited etc were more euro pop then 'dance' wernt they?..

THERE'S NO LIMIT! Whatever you say about 2 Unlimited, no limit was a classic!

I love the old skool tunes such as K Klass - rhythm is a mystery, Alison Limerick - where loves lives, felix - don't you want me. Adamski - Killer was class!

I also love a bit of Trance such as goryella, binary finary, Mauro Picotto, PVD and the best trance tune has to be engery 52 cafe del mar.

I am getting worried with dance music at the moment as it all seems to be cheap sampling and covers. Tocas Miracle 2008 seems a bit pointless. WHEN I'M I GOING TO HEAR A DECENT DANCE TUNE THAT WILL BECOME A CLASSIC!

I also like this tune but I don't know who it's by "Ha Ha, I'm gona be right there, for love yeah, hey if wanna, I wanna know it's true yeaaaaaaaaaaah"

yikes, I know that song.... not 100%, but is it Degrees in Motion 'Do You Want It Right Now'?

No it's defo not that! That tune goes like "I want your, oh I want your soul, do you want it right now and I can't let go" something like that. Didn't Armin Van Helden sample that?

Well the sample was a modern tune but the original one Russt posted is an oldie. I have that somewhere on.....tape :o

The one I'm talking about is different.

Ollie, it's Brothers In Rhythm 'Such A Good Feeling',

that's it! I have it on CD single, too

this is what i call a bloody fantastic dance track. it has everything i like, repetitive beats and riffs, composition, melody.

push.........'strange world'

 Love that tune. They did another tune the legacy which was just as good.

Tell what is another huge choon is Mauro Picotto - Verdi. I don't know who this is remixed by but it's so much better than the original.

Why can't they make dance music like this.

Yes, "Strange World" is a choon. Have (or did) this on 12" in my vinyl days!

I like very little dance at the moment except for Goldfrapp & Basshunter.

I was very much into this genre from around 1992 to 2000 when European Techno, Trance, Hardcore and Rave were at their peak.

I have added videos of some of my fave tracks, although they are not the only tracks I like by an act.
