What a weekend it has been.. for once results actually went our way

Went to my first game whilst hungover - never again. When West Ham's goal went in due to some absolutely horrendous defending I thought "oh dear god, I shouldn't have came :( ", but by the 80th minute I was back to my usual effing, blinding, shouting, screaming, jumping-up-and-down-and-getting-all-exciteable self

The 45,000 crowd made that winning goal. It's the loudest i've ever heard the SoL, and bear in mind I haven't missed a home game in 2 seasons

Interesting stat in the paper today: 11 of our 33 points have came from goals in the 85th minute or later :o

You know what pisses me off though? We score all these late goals in 90th, 93rd, 96th minutes etc and yet STILL you can see crowds of people leaving in the 80th minute  Can't stand people who leave early for no reason. I've never left early in any home game i've been to, no matter how poorly we're playing. I've never booed us either mind, which puts me a step above a certain other segment of fans in the northeast :kink:

people always leave early to beat the traffic at the Riverside  gets up my nose too

I mean you don't buy a cinema ticket to walk out of the film in the last 10 minutes to miss the crucial end

Precisely -_-

And with the number of goals we've been scoring in the dying seconds of games this season, you're usually guaranteed a dramatic finish to a game at the SoL

You been to many (any?) boro games this season, Matt? :o

I don't think I've been to any this season. Need some more pennies. :(

The difference being you go to a cinema and there'll be about 250 other people max trying to get out at the same time, not 25000+!

*cough* or 45,000 if you're at the stadium of light

:kink:

They can't help all those empty seats in Boro lol...

It's like when Motson and Lawro always bangs on about people leaving Wembley early and how it's awful... It's bleeding obvious why people leave early, to beat the rush, London is so hugely congested anyway and it's a pain in the arse to get out of it at the best of times, let alone with up to 90,000 other people leaving at the same time! Also, a lot of people watching won't be from London and have long journey's back, my dad went to watch England vs Germany but had to leave 15 minutes before time so he could make the huge walk round the stadium, onto the hugely crowded tube to the train station. Otherwise, you get off with everyone else and you miss your trains.

What empty seats? The fans DO go to games, they just all go dressed as red plastic seats :o

I am still here -_-

Leaving the O2 arena was fun enough with near 20,000 Spice fans  The police actually stopped us all going into the tube station and we froze outside and found out Leon won the X Factor in the process

Never mind Lawro and Motty waffling on, the real annoying thing is the posh people who farkin sit inside munching on a meal at half time and don't come back until the hour mark  People would pay good money to come and replace them and sit through the whole match.

Yup - I agree with you there. An interesting side note to this is that, in a 90000 seater stadium, the FA Cup semifinallists are getting 33000 seats each. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that it means anywhere up to 24000(!) people there will have no interest in the game.

If I was a VIP there, I'd actually see the whole game. (Which I have done - three times.)

There's a lad sits beside me leaves about 5-10 mins before half time and doesn't come back until 10, even 15 mins into the start of the second half. Again, if I leave my seat it's during half time and even then im only gone a little while

But there's 10,000 (I think that's the number) 10 year tickets!

And I bet most of them weren't at the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final on Sunday.

No one for the League 1 play-off! Forest vs Leeds = full house!

Even though there my most hated side i have to say come on Arsenal!

nah...come on United! Anyone aslong as Chelsea don't win it.

Absolutely amazing match. Credit to Arsenal, in the past five days they've produced two of the most exciting matches all season - a great advertisement for the Premiership [one was a Champions League tie but it still featured two Prem teams..]. But DEAR GOD Arsenal learn from your mistakes; there was absolutely no reasoning whatsoever as to why Gallas had to stick his hand out like that, let alone handball it AFTER it had gone through his arms. Made no sense at all.

Still they'll be one hell of a force next season if they can keep the momentum going, regardless of their supposed 'low budget'.
