Here are some vids of the brilliant Killing Joke, the last truly great Punk band still in existence....

Enjoy!

Vid 1. Eighties - from classic 80s music prog 'The Tube', and if you recognise the guitar riff, it's because Kurt Cobain ever-so-slightly borrowed it for "Come As You Are".

excellent band. One of my fave KJ songs was one of their later, lesser-known ones... 'My Love of this land'... gorgeous.

Youth, eh? Great producer, too.

good group, widely overlooked, where did they get their name from? a famous monty python sketch? lol.

But their impact is now being re-assessed, after all if you listen to the likes of Nirvana, SOAD, Korn, etc you can clearly hear their influence in these bands....

never was fussed by nirvana tbh... nor korn, but rate soad very highly :)

Fair enough, but Korn and Nirvana are/were important bands, both spearheaded a particular generation and defined a scene....

My favourite Killing Joke track was Love Liked Blood closely followed by Adorations.

Youth has produced some great albums including Verve's Urban Hymns; Crowded House's Together Alone & Embrace's Out Of Nothing.

Scott could you recomend me any certain Killing Joke albums?

There's a great compilation album - "Laugh? I Nearly Bought One" which has pretty much all the classics on it...

Their newest two comeback albums are fantastic - "Killing Joke" (2003) (the one with Dave Grohl drumming is heavy as fukk...) and their newest one "Hosannas From The Basements of Hell" (same title as the recent single, is excellent)

Older ones - "Killing Joke" (confusing, I know because there's two self-titled ones, this one has a black and white cover, the newer one has an evil clown on the cover); "Pandemonium" and "Night Time" are also good.... :)
