With the exception of Derby and possibly Fulham, it's very tight at the bottom of them prem and I still think that Bolton could get themselves out of it if they get a few decent results

5 games left, 15 points to play for so it's still very much mathmatically possible for Fulham and Bolton to stay up, but do you think they can do it? :o

Current bottom 5 in the premiership:

Pos	Team Pld	W	D	L	GD	Pts

15 Wigan 33 9 7 17 -17 34

16 Reading 33 9 5 19 -24 32

17 Birmingham 33 7 9 17 -13 30

----------------------------------------------------------------------

18 Bolton 33 6 8 19 -22 26

19 Fulham 33 4 12 17 -26 24

20 Derby 32 1 8 23 -51 11

This is assuming that Sunderland and Middlesbrough are safe, which of course isn't the case, but they do have 10 and 9 point cushions, respectively.

Remaining fixtures:

Sunderland:

H Sat 12 Man City

A Sun 20 Newcastle

H Sat 26 Middlesbrough

May

A Sat 03 Bolton

H Sun 11 Arsenal

We can get results at home against Man City and Boro imo, and Newcastle and Bolton away are very winnable games. Another win and a couple of draws should see us safe

Middlesbrough:

Sat 12 15:00 A	Tottenham

Sat 19 15:00 H Bolton

Sat 26 15:00 A Sunderland

May

Sat 3 15:00 H Portsmouth

Sun 11 15:00 H Manchester City

Boro are lucky in the respect that 3 of their remaining 5 are at home, and more importantly the last 2. Similarly to Sunderland, a win and a couple of draws will keep them ahead of the pack

Wigan:

Mon 14 20:00 A	Chelsea

Sat 19 15:00 H Tottenham

Sat 26 15:00 H Reading

May

Sat 3 15:00 A Aston Villa

Sun 11 15:00 H Man Utd

Similar to Boro, they have 3 home games left. Unfortunately I can only really see them picking up points against Spurs and Reading. Whether or not it'll be enough come 11th May depends on how teams around them do

Reading:

Sat 12 15:00 H	Fulham

Sat 19 12:45 A Arsenal

Sat 26 15:00 A Wigan Athletic

May

Sat 3 15:00 H Tottenham

Sun 11 15:00 A Derby County

Reading have 4 very winnable games left imo, and should be looking to pick up points in all of them. Based on these matches, I think Reading will finish safely above the drop zone, perhaps 12th or 13th

Birmingham:

Sat 12 15:00 H	Everton

Sun 20 12:00 A Aston Villa

Sat 26 15:00 H Liverpool

May

Sat 3 15:00 A Fulham

Sun 11 15:00 H Blackburn

The only game I can perhaps see them getting something out of would be the away game at Fulham, and tbh, if Fulham are fighting for points not even that one. They could pull off a couple of lucky draws, but considering their position, it may not be enough

Bolton:

Sat 12 15:00 H	West Ham Utd

Sat 19 15:00 A Middlesbrough

Sat 26 15:00 A Tottenham

May

Sat 3 15:00 H Sunderland

Sun 11 15:00 A Chelsea

Bolton will be looking for a result at home against us, and possibly West Ham. They can't win an away game for love nor money atm so they'll be looking for home performances to pick up points

Fulham:

A	Sat 12	15:00	Reading

H Sat 19 15:00 Liverpool

A Sat 26 15:00 Manchester City

May

H Sat 03 15:00 Birmingham City

A Sun 11 15:00 Portsmouth

Based on this, Fulham are relegated imo. They can't win away, and I can't see the teams they play away losing. The only real fixture they would be able to pick up points from is Birmingham at home, but 3 points will not be enough

Of course, this is all based on how the teams are performing at the moment, and a few shock results between now and the end of the season may see things completely turned on their heads come the end of the month.

Using the BBC's Premiership Predictor I predicted the results of the remaining games (where each team won or lost by only one goal), and this is what I got:

Pos	Team Pts

12th Middlesbrough 46

13th Newcastle 42

14th Sunderland 40

15th Reading 40

16th Wigan 36

17th Birmingham 31

---------------------------------------------------------

18th Bolton 28

19th Fulham 25

20th Derby 11

This isn't taking into account Goal Difference of course, but i'd say it's pretty accurate. Like I said earlier though, there could be a few shock results before the end of the season.. who knows?

What does everyone else think? Who will get relegated? Who will finish highest out of the current strugglers?

Fulham are pretty much a given seen as they can't win. Ever.

I'm thinking Bolton can escape if they pull themselves together. Out of the bottom 6 they certainly can't be matched for sheer quality. Wigan with their run-in could easily get pulled into it all right at the last minute. Birmingham and Reading have slightly easier fixtures.

I'll stick with Derby, Fulham and Bolton after much deliberation.

I was at the Fulham game yesterday and as they couldn't even beat Sunderland at home i don't think they stand a chance.

Tbf, after two wins on the bounce Sunderland's confidence will have been soaring, and we played well in the second half and were the better team from what I saw so I think we deserved our win

Bolton looked so out of depth against Villa yesterday and Fulham's defence is just, well...awful as pointed out on MOTD. Really can't see past them 3 bar any major slip ups from any of the other teams. Is just a case of seeing what happens these next 3 games, but I really don't see past Fulham and Bolton anymore.
I don't hear the Bolton fans calling Megson, the ginger Mourinho anymore :heehee:

I don't hear the Bolton fans at all. Neither of them make very much noise these days

I posted this on BJ a few weeks back, but everything's changed now, what with Wigan getting a few good results.

12. Middlesbrough 40

13. Sunderland 39

14. Newcastle 38

15. Bolton 35

16. Reading 35

17. Birmingham 33

18. Wigan 33

19. Fulham 26

20. Derby 12

Just done it again, and got this result.

12. Newcastle 43

13. Middlesbrough 42

14. Sunderland 42

15. Wigan 39

16. Reading 39

17. Birmingham 37

18. Bolton 32

Much higher points on average

I didn't mean to sound like i was slagging off Sunderland as they deserved to win but Fulham had quite a few chances and where just useless infront of goal.

 It's alright, we weren't exactly playing our best either, but like Keano said we scored at the right times

And tbf, Healy's goal was good enough to be a match-winner. I honestly thought Fulham could have went on and got something once that had gone in

I think the bottom three will stay as it is, Bolton are too far off.

Edited by .issy.

Well, Fulham can't win at all, and Bolton have scored less than a dozen since Anelka left (and that was back in January), so I say those two will be coming up to Deepdale next season.

Good thing about it is that we'll have another Lancashire club to try and beat (as we've already got Blackpool and Burnley in the Championship).

i am very pleased that sunderland isn't in the relagation zone.

It must be strange - you've already got more than double points than your last spell in the Premiership, and another win would give you more than double the points from the visit before that.

I think Derby, Fulham and Bolton will go down!

Bolton have some pretty hard fixtures left and so do Fulham. I can't really see Bolton or Fulham escaping.

Frankly, i think these are the right teams for the drop.

Both Fulham and Bolton won today and Birmingham only picked up a point, means the last 4 games will be very intresting
