April 24, 200817 yr Author Can you remember some you failed on? What decade were they from? oh all over the place on monday night.... we got the tracks nearly right but dropped several silly half points which do add up. he chucked some of todays music in as well... we didnt get scouting for girls 'elvis isnt dead' although i should have, nor a graham somebody who was actually in the team that beat us!!!!
April 25, 200817 yr Author won again last night, but very disappointed that we failed to identify 'al capone'by prince buster correctly.... for some reason beth and i got it into our heads that it was 'last train to skaville'.... how tf we could make such a fundemental mistake is worrying.
May 2, 200817 yr Author we lost last night! lol the 'joker' round (double points) that made us win when the 'round from hell' was punk worked against us. last nights rfh was positions 11-20 on this day in 1977... well thats what he told us but looking at my book it doesnt tally with his chart! does anyone remember Brendan - 'gimmie some'?... i recognised the track but failed to id it. we also cocked up on 'oh boy (the mood im in)' as being by brotherhood of man and 'lonely boy' being andrew gold. we also failed to get the smokie title 'lay back in the arms of someone'
May 2, 200817 yr Author here we go brendon 'gimmie some' ..... anyone remember this? i didnt! XQ6L05fx1JQ
May 2, 200817 yr Yeah I'd have got Brendon, 1977, and the other three you mention, as those years, mid 70's, are my strongest by far. Wish I could take on your team! :o Wouldn't have got Al Capone though. :( My ex pop quiz cohort rang me and said " Been to one and wtf he played a woman singing Here There And Everywhere" I said "Yeah, Emmylou Harris, 1976." He hadn't ever heard a female sing that! The first one I ever went to he asked for Cilla's first single but I didn't know. It's asked in the latest Retro quiz!! :D Edited May 2, 200817 yr by Crazy Chris

I'd have got SFG as I have the album.
May 2, 200817 yr Author cillas first single was a minor hit in 63, her second was...well... #1 ! i hope that gives nothing away.

Wish I could take on your team! :o to beat us though you need to know hits from the last 5 decades, including the 00's! :P we arnt the best team out there by a mile, but at the 2 quizes i attend we tend to do well.
May 2, 200817 yr Yeah the 90's and noughties would be my Achilles heel unfortunately! Haven't been to a music quiz since about 1990. Went to a half music half general knowledge one last year. We got all 10 music but am c**p at GN so got 13 altogether, not enough. :( Edited May 2, 200817 yr by Crazy Chris
May 2, 200817 yr Author I always know about 1 lol! nonsense, you know several and every point counts! besides YOU correctly identified that guns n roses track that won us £60 :)

As soon as the questions were about 90's music that was me finished

As soon as the questions were about 90's music that was me finished  strangely enough...i started going to them in 95, so i started taking notice of modern music again! co-inciding with britpop and guitar bands re-emerging :). so my achillese heel is 87-95 when my chart knowlege is rather patchy. just get a younger person on your team m8... all the top teams have people to cover all decades.
