Craig David filling in for Robbie?

14:24 - 19-August-2008

Craig David has joined the Soccer Aid 2008 England Team.

The England Team's regular captain at the annual fundraising event, Robbie Williams, is taking a year off and manager Harry Redknapp will be choosing a new team captain.

Robbie - who created the celebrity fundraising event with his friend Jonathan Wilkes - said: "Being able to help so many people through Soccer Aid was one of the true highlights of my life. I'm gutted that this time round my knee isn't up to it so unfortunately I'm out of the game. But I hope that everyone involved has the time of their life like I did, raises loads of money for Unicef and that the best side wins."

Also signing up for the 2008 England squad are Angus Deayton, McFly's Danny Jones, Harry Potter actor Tom Felton and Full Monty star Hugo Speer. They will join football stars Jamie Redknapp, Alan Shearer and David Seaman, as well as celebrities including rugby and Dancing on Ice star Kyran Bracken, Gareth Gates, Ben Shephard, Jamie Theakston and Jonathan Wilkes.

Meanwhile, footballing legends Jaap Stam and Franco Baresi have confirmed they will play for the Rest of the World team, which will be captained by TV chef Gordon Ramsay.

The event will be hosted at the new Wembley Stadium by And and Dec.

Subject: Win VIP Tickets To Soccer Aid At Wembley Stadium

Body:

Soccer Aid is just over a fortnight away and the excitement is building.

The charity event of the year, set to take place at Wembley Stadium on 7th September, will see England take on the Rest of the World as celebrities and football legends battle it out on the pitch in a bid to raise money for Unicef.

RobbieWilliams. com has 10 pairs of VIP tickets up for grabs!

Head over to the official website to find out more about how you can be in with a chance of winning.

Edited by Scorpio

Do the winners get travel and hotel costs too or just the tickets?

Wow! Aren't they generous? You win tix worth about 30 quid then need to spend about 500 quid on transport and hotels. Think I'll pass

Addendum- I noticed it doesn't actually say what the difference is between a VIP ticket and a 'normal' ticket. You probably get a free Coke and a packet of salt n vinegar crisps with the VIP one!

A seat in the VIP box I would imagine, which is probably set on the other side of the stadium

Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing one at all when I was there

Not seen any adverts on tv yet for Soccer Aid, has anyone else? only a few weeks to go
