August 31, 200816 yr http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5i8...H296KQcclPMD7jg Hollyoaks actor plays in Soccer Aid 14 hours ago The tension is building as the days to Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes' brainchild, Soccer Aid, tick by. But a new name has been added to the list of celebrities taking part in the charity football match, taking place at Wembley Stadium on September 7. http://i36.tinypic.com/9ve7oi.jpg Hollyoaks star Chris Fountain has signed up to play alongside the likes of Craig David, Angus Deayton, McFly's Danny Jones, Jamie Theakston and Gareth Gates. Speaking about his involvement in the match, Fountain told Digital Spy: "I had a dream last night that me and Gordon Ramsay actually had a fight on the pitch! "That's how excited I am about the game, I'm even dreaming about it. "In my dream Gordon kicked me and the ref was in the middle trying to break it up. I'm hoping this is not a premonition." Fountain, who plays Justin in the Channel 4 soap, isn't the only one to be getting a teensy bit excited. Life-long football fan Craig David, who missed out on the inaugural event in 2006 at Old Trafford, said: "Every kid who loves football would love to play on an amazing pitch against great players. It's incredible. "I can see Wembley Stadium from where I live, and to have the opportunity to get that ball and blast it in the back of the net would be mad." Soccer Aid, hosted by Ant and Dec, airs on ITV1 on Sunday, September 7.

September 4, 200816 yr Author http://i33.tinypic.com/2a9tix5.jpg Soccer Aid's football legends and celebrities are ready to kick off! Find out how to get tickets The football legends and celebrities all playing in Soccer Aid 2008 on Sunday at Wembley Stadium have begun training, and pitch antics have certainly been eventful! Team England were taking training a lot more seriously than their rest of the world counterparts, with Rest of World manager Kenny Dalglish and celebrity player Patrick Kielty sneaking off from training for a round of golf. Rest of the World Captain Gordon Ramsay spent much of the training session watching the England progress from the stands but didn't seem too worried about their ability. Gareth Gates injured England celebrity hopeful Gareth Gates was the first injury of training, pulling tendons in his left hand and leaving the training session with an ice pack and in visible pain. Meanwhile, Harry Potter actor Tom Felton confessed that he is nowhere near match fit. "I thought I was going to be physically sick out there on the pitch," he confesses. "Its so hard keeping up with them but Graham Le Saux in particular has been great giving out some advice." Ant and Dec made a surprise appearance at training and had a kickabout with Newcastle legend Alan Shearer. Commenting on the current situation at Newcastle United with Kevin Keeghan, England manager Harry Redknapp said: "I don't know what's going on but Kevin Keeghan is a top man and deserves to be treated with the upmost respect. They have so much support up there and it's not fair to be dragged through the newspapers. It's such a shame. Hopefully they can get it all sorted out." Rivalry The rivalry between Brian McFadden and Jonathan Wilkes was stirred at training. Brian said: "Gordan is extremely competitive so along with him, I'll try and do my best to keep team spirits high and really make everyone competitive on the night so we're all angry and ready to go. There's no love lost there between us (Brian and Jonathan Wilkes) and on the pitch I think there's a few unsettled scores to be fixed up." September 5, 200816 yr Author Jonathan Wilkes kicks off Soccer Aid match http://i38.tinypic.com/29asbpy.jpg SOCCER Aid is back – all thanks to Wootton Bassett musician and TV presenter Jonathan Wilkes. It will see past World Cup football legends and well-known celebrities kick off in the big match for charity this weekend. An England team made up of former players David Seaman and Jamie Redknapp will take on a Rest of the World XI, including former West Ham striker Paulo Di Canio and TV chef Gordon Ramsay. All the proceeds for the match at Wembley Stadium will be donated to Unicef. “It’s every schoolboy’s dream to play at Wembley,” said 30-year-old Jonathan, whose best friend is singer Robbie Williams. “It’s going to be great to fulfil that and hopefully we can put in a good performance like two years ago.” Jonathan, who has helped organise the event, scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory for England against the Rest of the World in 2006 – it was watched by 72,000 people and raised £2.6m for Unicef. He hopes history will repeat itself again. “We have some great stars – to play with Alan Shearer and Teddy Sheringham will be fantastic,” said the Port Vale fan, who lives in the Wiltshire town. “It’s a real dream come true to play with these sort of players. “I was in training the other day and I crossed the ball in for Shearer to head in. He ran away with one arm in the air. “That beats scoring a goal – it was a great feeling.” Other stars taking to the hallowed turf in London include former Chelsea defender Graham Le Saux, GMTV’s Ben Shephard, R&B singer Craig David and Dancing on Ice star Kyran Bracken. They will be up against former Brazil striker Romario, Portuguese playmaker Luis Figo, West Indian cricket legend Brian Lara and Nicky Byrne from boyband Westlife. Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is stepping up to manage England with Bryan Robson as assistant manager, while Kenny Dalglish and ex-Liverpool goal machine Ian Rush will take charge of the Rest of the World team. “I hope we raise as much money as possible,” added Jonathan. Soccer Aid is raising funds for Unicef’s health, education and protection work with vulnerable children all over the world. It helps children to survive and thrive in more than 190 countries worldwide, working with partners to provide emergency support and development solutions. The big kick-off is at 7.30pm on Sunday, September 7. It will be screened on ITV1 and presented by Ant and Dec. Tickets are priced at £5 for under 16s in tier one and £25 for adult seats in the second tier. Call the ticket hotline on 0871 230 7148. For more information, visit www.itv.com.
