So I currently have two potential entries that I think are great, but they'll probably flop. I just need to make sure I'm right.

T.I. & Mary J. Blige - Remember Me

Jay-Z & Rihanna & Kanye West - Run This Town

Both far too urban right? I mean, this is a song with a hip-hop artist telling people to remember him while he's in jail and an urban song where the male to female ratio is too heavy on the male side. Love them both, but I just know they'll put me on instant 0 points with everyone in the 'Scandipop bloc' which is, arguably, the biggest 'bloc'.

Jay Z FTW :cheer:

seriously we need to add some more spice into contest...it's getting generic IMO and somehow we always know who will win before contest starts, it's just :arrr:...we need urban/rock/oldies to send more often.

and as you're my 3rd most voted country, I always look after your entries :)

Oh f*** :kink:

I can't decide, I  them both, but I guess I'd have to go with the Jay-Z/Rihanna/Kanye collaboration

Run This Town is WOW

My 'bloc' likes Remember Me

Thanks! ^_^ Looks like you're the only one... :(

So do you say Jay Z because you like it or because you want me to send something 'different'? :heehee:

Thanks for the votes. I was expecting something last month tbh. :(

Jay Z will go down the best ;o

But which do you like best? or is that neither?

LOLOLOL @ the note on the 'Remember Me' video

I know LOL, loves it.

Run This Town is WOW

I know, I just doubt Buzzjack's ability to vote for a song with a lot of Jay Z and Kanye on it. :( Mary's part is bigger on my other song, but she is nowhere near as popular as Rihanna on here.

I think that's a bit of a generalisation :o people who notoriously vote for Scandipop won't necessarily instantly dislike anything else

for example, I have been seen to be a part of the 'scandipop bloc' but I've often given urban songs my top points; Knock You Down, Armageddon, Now I'm That B*tch for example all got 8 or 10 from me  for the record, I much prefer Run This Town to Remember Me :D Then again, I think I should be in the 'random' bloc actually, not the 'scandipop/dance' one, I always vote for a complete mixed bag of songs/genres! Mdice gave more points to scandipop songs in the final of XVIII than I did :heehee: I think I only voted for BWO and Le Kid :o Rosanna, Marie Serneholt, Yohanna and Daniela didn't really excite me in anyway, although they were all 'good'

and I agree that diversity is a good thing for the contest, it does get a big stagnant sometimes, hence me sending Example last month...I just wanted to send something radically non-Buzzjack! It was an experiement that failed, as I'd expected it to...like someone said last month about BJ-friendly rappers though, I reckon Kanye is one of them, and Rihanna definitely is BJ friendly, so I think Run This Town could be an easy top ten! T.I. wouldn't do much in my opinion...

Oh, I wasn't specifically putting you in that group, though you're definitely one of the ones I was thinking of. The main countries I was thinking about would be the likes of Tinnmark, Sangria, Fervorosia, Xyland, Land Of Jack and Ben's Sanctuary.

I'd actually say I'm slightly 'random' too, though I'll usually dish out higher points to R&B tracks. In the past I've given out high points to the likes of Yohanna, Emma Deigman, Brownies, Belinda, Architecture in Helsinki and Slow Club.

Hmm...I'd agree that Kanye is Buzzjack friendly (though I know a few people in this contest dislike him - I'm sure Addy was one of them!) he's probably the rapper I enjoy the most. Not sure "Run This Town" could go top 10. It's no "Knock You Down" and that only just made the top 10. Then again, Buzzjack would say that Keri is no Rihanna. But it's a male led song, with the lead being much less popular than the other component of "Knock You Down" - Ne-Yo.

I need to think about this, is Rihanna a big enough influence for people to tolerate Jay-Z and Kanye? :heehee:

Rihanna doesn't generally do well in BJSC even with unknown songs, whilst Keri has finished top ten a couple of times, so maybe Buzzjack does prefer Keri :heehee:

Xyland I think might vote for it, Xylem loves R&B! He gave his 12 to Step Back in the semis last time!

I can see where you're coming from actually, Ne-Yo is far preferable to me than Jay-Z...Knock You Down is the best urban song of the year by a mile, I can't believe it only came 10th, but like I said, it was a ridiculously good contest quality wise

Haha true, rightfully so as well. Keri is brilliant but, admittedly, better when she collaborates with others. I don't think Rihanna has had a proper chance in the BJSC yet, "Hatin' On The Club" was bland and she didn't do too badly in VII, though Maroon 5 are quite BJSC friendly.

Oh yes, I just remember that I've seen Livvi Franc and Beyoncé at #1 in his chart recently. (though the songs were far more Pop and featured no rappers)

Hmm exactly, "Knock You Down" is easily my favourite song of the year so far and if that (which is a similar sort of track) could only finish 10th, good contest or not, I don't have much hope for this.

I might have to keep on looking, or hope the David Guetta album surfaces, even though I like both of these a lot right now. I don't have a whole lot of time this week, I have an assignment I should have already started due in a week. :(

I dont consider myself part of the scandipop bloc at all, or any bloc for that matter. Looking back at my votes they're very random I like dance and all, but I love R&B and pop too. In fact, i'm more inclined to support these genres unless its a clear favourite of mine ;)

As for these 2 songs, I like them, but like many other songs, whether they'll receive points from me depends on how much I like the rest of the competition which is usually pretty tough.

Yeah, sorry about that. I don't think anyone likes to be grouped by their main taste, everyone votes out of their comfort zone on occasion. Mdice voting for a Eurovision reject, FSR Rontvia voting for urban Quotosibb voting for...actually I don't think I have a specific group at all. In the past I've sent Soul, R&B, Pop, Dance, Scandi-pop, Industrial, Alternative and Indie-pop entries.

Of course, glad to hear that you somewhat like them both at least. ^_^

No, I'm telling because I really like this collab.

:snif: trust me I gave u 4 in semis but in final u ranked just outside top 10.

oh trust me that changed since I heard Knock You Down, which the song wouldn't be amazing as it is without him...but still I dislike most of his solo projects.

Ooh ok! ^_^

Yeah, I saw your points in the semi which I'm thankful for. It's points in the semi that matter most of course.

Ahh I see, I totally agree. Kanye helps make "Knock You Down" what it is, he makes me go into rap mode on his part. :heehee:

Maybe start searching for entries and don't wait 'til they come to your reservations themselves. :kink:
