Yes because it was the first single and long-awaited song from her. Second singles usually do worse than its predecessor + the album is also out. Hopefully it will still be enough for the number 1.

I knew you will say this. If you check her second singles Sorry was an exception. Neither Ray Of Light nor Don't Tell Me could be number 1 (sadly) :(

I don't think Give it 2 Me will reach #1 :unsure: . I think it will get to about #4. I personally don't think it's anywhere near as good as previous 2nd singles Sorry or Hollywood. Plus this time around downloads are much more popular so by the time the official release arrives many people will already own a copy (a bit like Kylies Wow.)

true, but nobody owned the album at that point. A huge chunk of people now have HC so why bother downloading GI2M?

Hollywood was such a perfect song. I preferred to American Life.

I loved "Hollywood" as well. Both that and "American Life" reached #2, but didn't they sell over 100,000 copies

Hollwood was an amazing 2nd single, it shoulda been the first! But i liked American Life too. As far as sales are concered, i think i remember reading that AL sold 50k copies and Hollywood sold like 40k. So they weren't brilliant sales unfortunetly!!!

 

I know everyones entitled to their own opinion but i just don't see how some can say 'Give it 2 Me' aint a good track/single! Its sucha an incredible monster of a song brilliantly echoing earlier elements from her 80's sound combining it with a harder more contemporary sound. I just love it and i'd be gutted if it doesn't make #1. Sorry was excellent too and deservingly so made #1 :)

I personally think 'Give It 2 Me' is far better than '4 Minutes'. '4 Minutes' is a bit like 'Hung Up' in the way that it's briefly addictive but not really amounting to much in the longrun, 'Sorry' was also better than 'Hung Up', and 'Hollywood' better than 'American Life'. I think it's fair to say she has corkers of second singles these days. :P

i hope the covers for CD1 and 2 are different. I was so disapointed when the two 4 Mintues singles both had the exact same cover. How boring! :(

 

For example American life CD1 was red, CD2 was blue. CD2 of Hollywood had a nice border around the front, One Love Profusion was orange, one was fushia. I liked it better when she did that. Maybe it's just me :P

 

I hope she uses a different font too, i'm not to keen on the HC font :unsure:

 

I'm so critical at the moment :D
