May 1, 200817 yr wow! you KNOW 'soldiers song!' ...lol.. not many do, in fact.... you are only the second person besides me!!! And me I also remember a single after THE BABY called Magic Woman Touch - it actually didn't chart in the UK. Allan Clarke wasn't on either of these singles. THey were sung by Sweden's Mikael Rickfors. Allan Clarke was devastated after the departure of Graham Nash and decided to try a solo career. It didn't work out and he rejoined the band in 1973.

May 3, 200817 yr For me they are/were like a sort of missing link between the Beatles & Hermans Hermits. Great vocal harmonies, good hook laden tracks, but the production of the tracks lets them down a bit: 02 (Ain't That) Just Like Me 05 Searchin' 06 Stay 06 Just One Look 08 Here I Go Again 07 We're Through 08 Yes I Will 09 I'm Alive 08 Look Through Any Window 04 If I Needed Someone 09 I Can't Let Go 08 Bus Stop 07 Stop Stop Stop 07 On a Carousel 08 Carrie Anne 08 King Midas In Reverse 06 Jennifer Eccles 07 Listen To Me 09 Sorry Suzanne 10 He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother 08 I Can't Tell the Bottom from the Top 08 Gasoline Alley Bred 04 Hey Willy 01 The Baby 10 Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress 06 The Day That Curly Billy Shot Down Crazy Sam McGee 09 The Air That I Breathe 05 Soldier's Song 03 The Woman I Love (written by Nik Kershaw but no "The One & Only" or "Crazy For You") I'd highly recommend non UK hits from the 1960s Dear Eloise & Pay You Back With Interest from the 1960s; Whilst they scored a big hit in Australia & New Zealand with Too Young To Get Married, and they were the first act to champion the songs of Bruce Springsteen covering "Sandy (4th of July, Asbury Park)" which was the first Springsteen composition to chart in America & Europe. This is definitely my favourite Hollies track & deservedly their biggest hit in the USA & an Australian #1: JEquzKplTk4 Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress (1972 USA#2)
May 5, 200817 yr Never really got the Hollies. I have listened to some of the tracks but I prefer Manfred Mann to them.
