Kopeček committee announce revamp of BJSC selection!

After an unexpected 9th place finish in Feethoo, the Kopeček selection committee have announced a grand 24-song contest which will begin within the next week and involve a mixture of public and jury voting in order to finally find a winner for Kopečka after 6 contests with two top three places but no wins as of yet. "We're determined to finally take the crown in Siobah next month, and we can think of no better way to do so than by whittling down the finest artists at our disposal to find the best song for Siobah." said a spokesperson for IBK. When asked as to whether the leaked considerations were to be involved in the named Kopečekfestivalen, the spokesperson confirmed the involvement of all of them, "...but the arrangement of the contest is such that not all of them will make it to the public stage. The contest has 24 songs but these will be internally selected so that only 16 go through to the quarter-finals, with 4 songs in 4 groups. The public and representatives from other countries will vote for their 3 favourites, with the losers from each group being knocked out and the winners going through to a semi-final of 2 groups with 6 songs. The 3 favourite songs will be voted upon from each group, with the winners going on to a star-studded 6 song final heat the week before the contest! IBK has already signed several multi-million sponsorship deals with high ranking companies within Kopečka, so you can be assured that no expense will be spared in our attempt to find real quality for Kopečka in Quotosibb!". The contestants will be announced in the very near future.

Rachel Stevens secures Kopeček ticket to Siobah

After the longest selection process to date, lasting nearly a month, Kopečka has finally chosen its entrant as bookmaker's favourite Rachel Stevens with I Said Never Again (But Here We Are). Rachel scored an emphatic victory over her five rivals, finishing 24 points ahead of 2nd placed Gwen Stefani, who entered with Wonderful Life, and 38 points ahead of third placed Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who entered with If You Go. Rachel's management were quick to capitalise on her success by announcing a 12-date tour across the globe, visiting such countries as Bhangra and Rontvia, in an attempt to publicise her entry which has been widely touted as Kopečka's greatest chance at victory yet after several top 10 finishes. Rachel Stevens is currently on odds of 4/1 to win the contest in Siobah on June 23rd at Ceknet!, although she has yet to be given odds by other bookmakers. Mdice are still the hot favourites to win with electrorock anthem I Kissed A Girl from Katy Perry.

Rachel Stevens finishes 7th as Mdiče destroy all competition

In a night of few shocks, Katy Perry romped to victory with 188 points, 45 points ahead of 2nd placed Lady GaGa for MKL as Rachel Stevens finished 7th for Kopečka, setting a points record for Kopečka with 105 points accumulated. Rachel was pleased with the result, saying that she was 'just happy to set a record for Kopečka - I hope they do better next month though!'. Rachel's result is the fourth consecutive top 10 result for the nation, although all eyes are now on two things: who will be next month's hosts after Mdiče ruled themselves out of contention for hosting due to an economic crisis within the country; and who will represent Kopečka at the 8th contest, with the NF committee announcing two contenders - Jennifer Saunders with Holding Out For A Hero, and Little Boots - Meddle.

ČEKB!TCH - Cek the gossip, cek the b!tches // JENNIFER PULLS OUT OF RACE!

BREAKING NEWS - Jennifer Saunders has withdrawn from the race to represent Kopecka at the 8th BuzzJack Song Contest after making a deal with the Kopecek NF Committee to represent Kopecka in August, leaving Little Boots - Meddle as Kopecka's entry in July.

Little Boots satisfied with result; Jennifer Saunders ready to go 11 better

After last night's 12th placed result with 73 points, lead singer of Little Boots Victoria Hesketh said she was 'satisfied' with the result and 'just happy to have taken part - it was a great show and a very worthy top 5'. There was disappointment within Kopečka at the result, with many people feeling that Meddle should've done better, but overall spirits were high within the capital Zagorasta last night, with many hoping that next month's entry from Jennifer Saunders, Holding Out For A Hero, can finally bring Kopecka back into the top 5. There has been a rethink within the Kopeček BJSC internal selection committee after last night's result, which is thought to have received a luke-warm reception within the committee, and an official announcement today claimed that Patrick Wolf is no longer the official representative for BJSC X and that confirmation will take place nearer to the contest.

ČEKB!TCH - Ček the gossip, ček the b!tches // EXCLUSIVE: Kopečka changes mind: sensational three-way battle to take place

After a month of apparent confirmation that Jennifer Saunders would be representing Kopečka in the 9th contest, it has been announced that a u-turn has been made by the internal selection committee, and that Kopečekfestivalen! will return under a new format for the 9th contest, with the three entrants announced as Jennifer Saunders, Kalomoira and former entrant Elena Paparizou. The NF will go as follows: Elena Paparizou and Kalomoira will have their own heats in which their own songs go head-to-head to find the best for the final, with Holding Out For A Hero receiving a bye to the final. The final will feature 5 songs - the 2 best songs from the Elena and Kalomoira heats along with Holding Out For A Hero, and the songs will all go head-to-head to find the Kopeček entrant for the 9th contest to be held in Nonsuch's thus far unnamed capital :drama:.

The songs have been announced as follows for each heat:

Elena Paparizou

To All The Heroes

The Game of Love

Teardrops

Kalomoira

Sto Diko Mou Rythmo

Vradiazi

Hot

EXCLUSIVE: Ashlee Simpson confirmed

In a shocking twist, this month's Kopečekfestivalen was scrapped and postponed indefinitely after the Kopeček internal selection committee announced a deal had been made with Ashlee Simpson, who finished joint third in the Kopečekfestivalen! for the sixth contest with the same song as she will be sending in this contest, Little Miss Obsessive.

ČEKB!TCH - Ček the gossip, ček the b!tches // Serebro to return for Kopečka

After originally announcing their intention to enter Amy Winehouse into the tenth BJSC, Kopečka made a sudden u-turn after Amy suddenly collapsed during a performance at the K Festival last weekend and was sent to rehab for a six-week spell, leaving Kopečka without an entrant. However, the internal selection committee have been in contact with Kopeček favourites Serebro, and it has been announced that the 10th Kopeček entry will be Serebro's new single, Dirty Kiss, making them the only group so far to have entered the contest three times.

ČEKB!TCH - Ček the gossip, ček the b!tches // Yet another change! Kopečka gamble all hope on Camille

Sensationally last night Serebro were ditched after a long-running feud with Dima Bilan of Bhangra boiled over and a reported 'catfight' took place backstage after a joint press conference featuring all Miskanthan entrants into the contest. The Kopeček internal selection committee have announced that they will be taking their greatest risk yet for the 10th contest and will be entering French a cappella singer Camille with the epic six minute track 'Money Note', a move which has fiercely divided Kopečka into camps who believe that Camille provides a new outlook on the contest that could end up giving the country its first victory, and another which believes that Camille is certain to bring the nation its first non-qualifier, destroying its 100% record thus far.

ČEKB!TCH - Ček the gossip, ček the b!tches // Camille impresses as Mdiče score historic third victory

After weeks of nail-biting speculation over the eventual fate of Money Note, Kopečka tonight scored one of their greatest achievements to date after Camille claimed a whopping 106 points, drawing for seventh place with the United States of Jack but losing out on the countback. Despite this however, many Kopečekers believe the result to be Kopečka's greatest success yet in the contest, with many pundits before the contest speculating that Camille was a risky choice and stood a large chance of providing Kopečka with its first flop. In a result that had many on the edge of their seats, Mdiče claimed their third victory in ten contests (and are indeed still the only nation to win more than once) with the final vote from Simondly, which gave Brandy's 'Right Here' 10 points, pipping Torchwood's Lady GaGa into second place for the second time (and again to Mdiče!). This means that the eleventh contest will return to Vartza for a second time in October, with Mdiče having been unable to host the eighth contest due to an economic crisis which left the main concert hall unrefurbished and unsafe until last month. Camille was quoted as saying that she was 'ecstatic to hit the money note for Kopečka', and attributed her impressive result to her 'sexy pink boots', and left the hall screaming with joy with a bottle of champagne in one hand and a dead lemming in the other, chanting 'keteket ekete kete' as she was whisked away to the National Shadowan Cabaret Hall for the evening to get pissed and improvise tracks for her next album 'Champagne Hole'. Kopečka's result leaves them as the second most successful nation after ten contests, and the only nation to have qualified for every final thus far. Kopečka's fifth place result (with 75 points) in the semi-finals is also their best semi-final result to date. With Electrovamp already announced as the provisional candidates to represent Kopečka in Vartza next month, to luke-warm response, Kopečekers will hope that they're able to continue their prestigious run in the contest. For tonight though, all plaudits go the Kingdom of Shadow, who overcame technical problems in the hall which led to an unprecedented 24-hour postponement of the results show to deliver what many have stated to be the greatest contest yet.

ČEKB!TCH - Ček the gossip, ček the b!tches // Electrovamp scrapped! Janelle Monáe for Vartza

The Kopeček internal selection committee last night announced that Electrovamp have been sensationally ditched ahead of the 11th contest, with Kopečka set to continue its policy of backing unknown artists by sending Kansan electro-urban popstress Janelle Monáe to Mdiče with the energetic Outkast-inspired 'Many Moons', which has already taken the nation by storm and looks set to go to #1 in the coming weeks. Janelle is said to be 'shocked' at the news that her application to represent Kopečka was accepted, and has already announced a whistle-stop tour of all the nations in her semi-final to promote 'Many Moons'. The head of the Kopeček internal selection committee, Zhara Dandatir, was quoted as saying, 'We realise that Janelle is a very big risk, as she doesn't have as much obvious support as Camille did last month, but we reckon that it'll pay off! That said though, we're not holding back a penny to get her the most support possible - we're sending her on the biggest promotional tour we've ever done, bigger than the Opium tour.'. Čeknet! has already placed Janelle on odds of 12/1 to win and 8/1 to finish 19th.

ČEKB!TCH - Ček the gossip, ček the b!tches // Janelle flops to widespread disappointment as Kopečka vote for the top two

Janelle's face said it all - a grimace as the final votes came in, but ultimately a grimace that felt that she'd done the best she could, however undeserved it was. Janelle totted up Kopečka's second 19th place result last night in Vartza (although still with a total of 71 points, tying with Opium's score in BJSC VI, and two douze points from Bokia and Mdiče) and its second flop overall as Eledan stormed their way to a second victory with the help of a Kopeček douze and Nonsuch claimed their third top three result with a Kopeček dix. Janelle was unavailable for comment, however, Zhara Dandatir said that the result was 'disappointing' but that 'we've got something up our sleeve for next month - and if we miss the top five then that's it for us.', a comment that has drawn widespread speculation and a little fear from the public, with pundits such as Perečki Heltana wondering whether a flop next month would mean a withdrawal from Kopečka or merely the dissolution of the Kopeček internal selection committee. 'Dear god, let it be the latter!' Perečki was quoted as saying.

ČEKB!TCH - Ček the gossip, ček the b!tches // 'La Roux FTW!' claims Kopečka as nation goes wild!

La Roux was announced as Kopečka's entry into the twelfth BuzzJack Song Contest in Eledan this morning, cueing pundits across Kopečka to celebrate and claim that La Roux is 'the woman to get Kopečka back into the top three - nay, get us our first victory!' with her electropop masterpiece 'Quicksand', which has already débuted at #5 in the Kopeček charts after just a day of airplay, and is a hot favourite to be Christmas number one in the wake of the announcement. La Roux was unavailable for comment last night, but Polydor were quoted as saying that 'although we are happy for La Roux, our current promotional tactics forbid us from allowing anybody to hear Quicksand', leading to speculation that an all-out war is likely to be waged should Kopečka be unable to promote Quicksand legally.

Kopečka goes wild as La Roux steals victory in the final votes!

Kopečekers took to the streets tonight after La Roux's dramatic victory in neighbouring Eledan, with a ten-point margin of victory over nearest contenders Mdiče, gained in the final two votes which were announced almost simultaneously. After the announcement of the Kathaldazian 12 not going to Mdiče, thereby sealing La Roux's victory, the nation erupted into a mass street party, with elderly Kopečekers seen crying. Valma, an 84-year old Zagorastan, told our reporters in tears that she had 'never thought [she] would live to see the day that Kopečka finally won this glorious contest'. The Kopeček representatives in Eledan were also overjoyed, with La Roux visibly ecstatic at her victory as she went onstage to collect her trophy and give a final performance of Quicksand, which, having received a record 193 points from the 44 other voting nations, was received ecstatically.

Amidst the excitement however, IBK (Internečika Brodokaste Kopeček), the national broadcasting service, is faced with the decision of how to follow up La Roux's success, with most pundits within Kopečka predicting Rosanna - Gameboy as a potential thirteenth entry for the host nation, with Gathania - Blackout and N.A.S.A. (a collaboration of several artists, although the ones relevant to the track suggested, Gifted, being Kanye West, Santogold and Lykke Li) also receiving backing from high profile bloggers within the nation. Regardless of the choice, most Kopečekers will be pleased that their nation has finally shattered the glass ceiling that many felt held their nation back from true glory: victory at the BuzzJack Song Contest.

:heehee: I've had a very good trend so far atch :o I was very surprised when I flopped with Jordin Sparks - Freeze, but not many of her fans were in the third contest, hence her flop :( I reckon I'd've done better with Freeze in this contest or the last one, but hey it's gone by now ^_^

And I'll be VERY annoyed if I finish third again, it's beginning to become a jinx I reckon :( And I was technically supposed to finish 4th in the last one, but internet problems stopped me from voting - I would've still been 4th had I voted as my 12 would've gone to Paper Planes ^_^

Anyway, I think I can announce these songs early! :funky: The competition has been revised to include 25 songs, with 9 being dismissed and the others going into the 16-song quarter final ^_^
