Robbie Williams Drummer To Join Oasis

He'll replace Zack Starkey reports claim...

by Jason Gregory

15 May 2008

Chris Sharrock, Robbie Williams’ drummer, is to replace Zack Starkey as the drummer in Oasis, according to reports.

Sharrock has apparently grown tired of waiting for his employer to release new material and has joined on the request of the Manchester band.

The claims, in today’s Mirror newspaper, come just three days after reports that said Starkey and Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher had fallen out with each other.

Zarkey, who is the son of former Beatle Ringo Starr, has been an unofficial member of the band since 2004 and is their third drummer.

In today’s Mirror, an unnamed source says Sharrock’s introduction is “sure to infuriate” Williams, who’s had an ongoing feud with Oasis throughout his career.

"Everyone thinks Chris has had enough of sitting on the picket line and not playing music,” they added.

"Oasis aren't striking against anyone so at least he'll be getting a bit of action now."

I guess the guy has to make a living. He can't sit on the sidelines for years waiting on Rob deciding to do a gig somewhere. Just wish it hadn't been Oasis though....

Oasis aren't exactly buzzing at the moment though are they

when was the last time they released a song or did a tour  recently?

(ducks incase Oasis fans are around)

Scotty will be here to tell us very soon. With his 'indignant' hat on no doubt.

How come? It's not like he's drumming for Westlife

They are almost finished their new album which will be released in the second half of the year. Then they will do a world tour, although they are touring Canda in a few weeks so I guess that is why they needed Chris. It is a real shame in a way, as it feels like an end of an era. Chris has been Rob's drummer from almost the very start. I hope he and Rob have'nt fallen out, and it is just a case of him needing work. It is a great opportunity and I am sure if it bothers Rob so much that he is joining Oasis like the media would like us to believe, Rob would've just paid him not to

Hey !!!That is great news for Chris...can you just imagine the slagging...I guess he is well able to take it though.......
I love Chris. Ok he can play for Oasis, just to back later for Robbie's tour in 2028.

I suppose loads of popstar types 'disappear' for a few years without releasing anything. It's just we're not used to Robbie doing that. He's always 'been here', releasing albums, touring or at least popping up on TV shows. Since the early 1990s. It's just weird not to have him around.
weird decision.. would never leave rob actually if i were working for him.. hmmmmm

I have only been really checking Robbie's stuff ( Ahem !!! ) out since mid 2006 so I am not sure what happened before IC....I would have thought that you would have seen less of him then seeing as it took him 2 years to make IC & everyone was not on www as they are now & had less updated news about him ....I guess he did not do too many tv shows whilke making IC....

Maybe he wants to spend more time on his personal life & less on being a megastar /....he has risen to the top & I guess it must be hard to stay focused & motivated so I guess he needs some time out for himself...I do not mind as long as he does come back sometime & he says that an album is in the pipeline so we will have to wait.......hard I know !!!!!

He is on tv right now in the vd for Eternity....I just lurve  his tats in that vd....
